In Every member's User cp ..
You find the Option "Invisible Mode" available..

Selecting it would allow you to surf the forums without appearing in the 'Logged In Users' list.

I for one dont use it.. But noticed alot of the others do... The number of members logged in is true, but the names showing are less...

Though they sometimes post while being invisible and then I know that its THEM who is online...

I wonder..

If you use the invisible mode, why do you? Why don't you want to be seen by other members or people?

O yeah :D
Some do it coz they wanna say that they no more come here ;)

Or some of them want to lower their online 'visibility' as much as possible?

not a problem for me. i can see them all. and the members who say that they wont post anymore..are actually still around.. even if only reading. :)

Maybe they just don't want members spying on them, lol, that's what ice t used to refer to it!

Don't know!

Or maybe it just a mood thing!

I suppose... I was only wondering.. What strong reason would actually make them not want to appear logged in Sabla..

I don't know the reasons for that .. Just like you, I am wondering!! Maybe one of those who do, would come ahead and let us know why they do that ;)

maybe because some ppl are annoyed from others .. so the put themselves in invisible mode just so that these ppl wont know they're on! :color:

I think that people should have the right for privacy, not everyone would like other people to know what he/she is reading and what part of the forum he is checking, I think that we should all have the right for that if we wish to do so.

I personally do not use the invisible mode, and I always check the online list because I enjoy knowing what other people think. :D

well benz$babe , they can easily put the ones they r annoyed from on the ignore list *simple!

I dont get it myself ... especially if they actually post at the same time!!

You know what.... I never thought about it this way! Since there another option that allows us to see what they're DOING online on Sabla! :D :D

I enjoy that option too! Always go to -->See who's online!

Blindy he meant that whether u c him on or not it doesnt make a differnce .. so even if u werent on invisible, then ppl would still not notice...

There is a point, now lets say there is a topic about SEX, OK? and there lets say I was a shy girl member, I do not want people to know that I am checking this topic about sex for two hours, ok, if someone went to "WHO IS ONLINE" list, they can know that I am checking that certain thread on SEX, but if I was invisible, no one would be able to tell what thread I am looking at right now.

Another example, some people would just read some threads and not reply at the same time, other people CAN tell that these poeple are just reading and not replying, and this might give an idea that they are cowards or some other negative thing.

Well Chi.. I got your point.. Its the only thing that actually makes sense.. Privacy in reading threads and posts...
Cool.. ;)

haso0on
18-09-03, 11:55 AM
i guess your right

but...no one know the shy girl in real life, so there would be no problem
unless some of her friends or family are online

Exactly, I'm already sick and tired of privacy, they taught us quite much about it already at Uni. :D
