Blue_Chi 10-09-03, 05:26 PM I think that the Omanis' problem is not in theri governemt or in their Sultan, HM has done ALOT to this country, it was nothing before his era, and now we are just as advanced as all the other countries around us, the problem of the Omani nation is in its citizens. No one really cares for the country, no one really puts any effort in their jobs, no one really cares about educations, we fool ourselves thinking that we know everything and that we are the best while in fact we are the most primitive nation of the Gulf.
What should we do for devloping our country?
Change the curriculum taught in schools, the new generations are what really takes a country high or low, our youth KNOW nothing, and if there is no base for an object it just collapses. Books taught in this country are simply useless, there is nothing that a student really benefits from, it is very far from reality.
what is it that is missing in our country?
I think that dedication in work is the thing missing, no one really cares about what happens as long as they get their salleries at the end of the month.
What should our government do for bringing up our economy?
Innovation! We need to start our own new thing, rather than copying what other people say, we don't have any artists, scientists, or whatever, there is no creativity in this country, no imagination or anything. I think that innovation is the thing that we need.
Is it something impossible for Oman to be a world famous country?
In its current situations, yes, it is impossible.
Are we going to be like this forever till we get another Sultan or something?
There is nothing wrong with the Sultan, he has done everything he can, it is now up to the citizens to do something for themselves for a change, everyone blames the governemt for everything while instead they should try to improve themselves.
Thank You............ Blue_Chi!
A very impressive reply!
Homeless 10-09-03, 05:39 PM Blu chi ,, excellent answers :app:
What do you people think?
Stop pretending that this country has nothing and that you can do nothing to improve it!!
In other words... stop being LAZY!
What should we do for devloping our country?
If others just can't stop their lazy routine.. then you your self should do something regarding your self!
Again, don't go with the people but let the people go with you if you think you are worth something !
what is it that is missing in our country?
People who are capable are doing nothing!
People never try to change and improve them selves.
Whenever a new thing is introduced, peoplke go blame the government for it!
what should we do to attract more tourism and other things in which we can make our country famous just like Dubai?
If you want it just like dubai, then just import some prostitutes and spread them according to the population!
For sure thats not what we want!
Our country is full of geographical beautiful places that just need people who are responsible to take care of it!
More advertising is needed for the country... many people can't recognise a country with the name Oman sadly!
What should our government do for bringing up our economy?
Support small businesses.
As BLuE_Chi suggested also... Innovation!
Make those youth make new stuff rather than telling them what to do.. make them work!
Is it something impossible for Oman to be a world famous country?
Not at all.... just believe that you can do something rather than saying that there is nothing you can do!
Are we going to be like this forever till we get another Sultan or something?
I believe our sultan is dedicated to his country and people. This is not just recognised by our selves but by countries all over the world.
The sultan is doing what he can do.... now it's the people turn to do something!
Stop being backed by your tribe and go build somethign your self!
You are right, His Majesty did everything for us, and I think it's the for him to retire, he looks tired, he looks very tired.
All your answers were really impressive. Our nation need people like you.
I think instead of spending all the money on Arms which we never use them at all, we better put on labs, and other useful thing as the western world is actually doing for citizens. I think within ourselves we have people with great minds, and they just need to be given a chance. We can do everything for ourselves it's just that we're spending so much of money for nothing in the Omani army.
As for education, I think we really need a big time change in our educational system, isn't it? I haven't studied much in Oman for except thanawiya 3ama. I studied all my life in scotland in Gordonstoun Boarding School. So I felt so hard to pass that I had to repeat thanawiya again.
I think they should bring the English language to first standard, and they should bring the choice of languages just like those British Schools and other schools.
Well Blue Chi, please give us more of those answers which you brought up now. As I always heard from my mom "It's mothers who know what is good for their children better than anyone else" and I guess we should call you Mother of Oman...don't worry I won't call you that unless a permission is granted from you. hehehe :D
Please give us more information for the changes we need to make in Oman, and then we'll see how can we give those things to the government, as I think Minister of Higher Education Mr Yahya Mahfoodh is coming to Australia next month or something for Chair of H M Sultan Qaboose in Melbourne University... I heard so from people, so i'm not sure yet!!!
I'd dare to give him those things... so please do give me some ideas people...
Amir Al-Balushi :app: for Blue Chi for her brilliant ideas
Blue_Chi 10-09-03, 08:17 PM LOL, before going ANY further, I AM A GUY. OK? BLUE_CHI and NOT BLUE CHI(CK) ! LOL  :lost:  :) :D :D :D
BLuE_Chi... it's the second time u remind ppl of this!!
whats the secret!! :gap:
the_killer... Minister of Higher Education came to melbourne already for that chair.. that was more than 2-3 months ago!
Shinoda LP 10-09-03, 10:20 PM us, and I think it's the for him to retire, he looks tired, he looks very tired
Would I have been burnt if I said something like that?
Actually yes. He looks tired and old. Will he step down though? ;)
Blue_Chi 10-09-03, 10:34 PM Regardless of the misunderstanding of the nature of my gender, LOL, here is my opinion:
I think that our main draw back is the illiteracy of our nation, it is true that most of the people read and write, but because of the nature of the academic curriculum of this country that promotes nothing but memorizing, I would not like to go into the details of the unintelligent system, but everything about it simply sucks, there is no point of most of the taught material, ESPECIALLY THE ARABIC CURRICULUM, I mean why the hell would a science section have to “LEARN” hundreds of poetry lines? Not only that, but all the other subjects as well, everybody knows in Oman that the only way of passing thanawiya is by MEMORIZING the whole book, I’ve done the thanawiya and I cannot remember anything from it now, because I knew from the start that I will never ever use any of that ******** in my life as I had to adapt a “temporary memorizing” techniques to remember something just for a single day, then forget it completely as I have never ever heard of it, it is very pathetic, but most of the people do the same. It is really necessary to change the content and method of teaching of the curriculum, some people just don’t really see how useless it is, but you can look around and see the corruption everywhere, just as I have said before, there is no innovation, there is no originality or what so ever, and why is that, because no one really taught the students to think for their own, the teachers only teach because they couldn’t get another job.
A thing that I think our country needs is having PUBLIC LIBRARIES. There is no place to go to if you want to read anything, you have to BUY anything you want to read, and even SQU, I have no idea of what is happening, but some of my friends were thinking of getting some books to read in the summer from SQU library and they couldn’t get anything, they had their brothers and stuff studying at SQU, but still, they couldn’t get anything to read, I have no idea of how the libraries in government schools are, but you can simply go and ask any government school graduate of how many outer-curriculum books he/she has read during his 12 years, the percentage of students who read one or two books would for sure be less than 10% for sure.
This country really needs a change in its educational system; otherwise there is no way this nation will advance.

I have no idea of why people think that I am female! I think it is my avatar that is looking a little bit feminine, but it supposed to be a male character, anyway, some people mis-read Blue_Chi and Blue_Chick.
Evilio, the first time he came to Melbourne actually the mission wasn't acomplished, so I heard from some students he is coming back. The first time he came I was in the meeting with him, and asked him a few questions personal questions about his family and all that, he's related to my mom.
Now i'm hearing from dudes here that he's coming again, because of the same thing, like i said he couldn't acomplish everything with that visit.
This time the targeted universities have increased. I even heard that some universities are planning to open their new colleges in Oman. I wish this all happens.
Blue Chi, I'm sorry, I think then we shall call you Mr. Oman.. hehehe....Well because of your name I thought you're a woman. However I shouldn't be judging people with their nicknames.
Blue Chi, is your suname Balushi, is that what Blue Chi supposed to mean or is it really the designer thingy?
Blue_Chi 10-09-03, 10:53 PM Blue Chi, is your suname Balushi, is that what Blue Chi supposed to mean or is it really the designer thingy?
What designer thingy?
Well.... Blue_Chi is "Blue" the colour, and "Chi" (pronouced Ki in the US) is the energy flowing in all living organisims according to Japanese mythology, so it is the blue energy of life is want to take it that way, PLUS, Balushi is my surname :D So it is a 2 in 1 nickname!
Balushi >> Baluchi >> Blue Chi !! Cool, lah?
Homeless 11-09-03, 01:33 AM I believe and think that MANY MANY omani's r just not open minded at all , and thats one of the problems!
Oman would be a great place to develope new technologies.........
The oil will dry up within 50 years......so why NOT push SOLAR power.....
I hear there's alot of sunshine.FREE energy.....available......
Also the style of Islam is much more liberal then other Arab countries, so maybe you should export it to Saudi Arabia.......better yet......maybe Oman should invade Saudi Arabia and become the leader of Arabia world.......cool huh?
Cheers

Young man,
You are wrong very wrong. MAWLANA is a very energetic and dedicated Monarch who pumps more than 12 hrs day into his work load. Who told you he is tired? Have you seen his picture lately? What makes you think he requires retirement?
You have just violated a major rule of the sabla that says MAWLANA is NOT to be discussed here, further more you violated a principal article in our basic law that require you to show respect to the head of state and contravening that article has its legal consequences.
Article (31) Freedom of the press, printing and publication is guaranteed in accordance with the conditions and circumstances defined by the Law. It is prohibited to print or publish material that leads to public discord, violates the security of the State or abuses a person’s dignity and his rights.
Article (41) The Sultan is the Head of State and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. His person is inviolable and must be respected and his orders must be obeyed. The Sultan is the symbol of national unity as well as its guardian and defender.
Now have you read and understood the above articles of law??

Who told you he is tired? Have you seen his picture lately? What makes you think he requires retirement? .
Now the answer for this, is really easy ok...
You asked me have I seen him on picture????? hehehe my friend, I SAW HIM WITH MY EYES FACE TO FACE, when i was with my father. So at that time he looked very tired. I don't have to say everything which happens ok. But remember Amir never says something unless he sees it with his eyes. So I didn't insult The Real Father of Oman. I didn't insult His Majesty. That day itself my father told him everything. Then if you have heard of my mother's name Dr Asma Omar, Cardiology Specialist the Indian lady, was his mother's personal doctor with Peter Miller and Andrina Nickelson. So you don't have to ask me if I have seen him or not...I can send you a picture of mine sitting with his mother and some other family members in Salalah...
Buddy my dear friend, you have to know who are you discussing things with. Don't just say anything without understanding what I was trying to say there. I wanted to PM you this, but I thought better be here because I already feel like you insulted me infront of the others. It's ok though, I know you wouldn't say something and you're not mad to say all this unless a misunderstanding has occured or else otherwise I've done something wrong. I said this just to let you know that my family do have some relations with the Royal Family like my father's sister and another one is my uncle my father's younger brother.
I feel sorry for one thing the rest I don't regret i said that, well the matter is i didn't know that we are not supposed to talk or raise any topice about his majesty here. SORRY FOR THAT PEOPLE.
Bro/sis thanks for the law, actually I didn't know them. Thanks a lot.... now forget all this and let us discuss the topic of this thread... We are humans because we know how to forget and forgive, that's what friends for!!!:) :color:

all the omani's come to dubai to medical services  Now the Dubai Govt have slapped a Huge Fee for Only Omani's!
Now all the Omani's must provide Bills and House Contract's in order to go to Hospital here in Dubai!
The Omani's Abused the System!

Actually, solar energy, has been tried in Oman but it was not very successful because of the 'sand'. In general, solar energy is not successful in sandy areas because the sand blocks the screen which receives the light rays! I think if there is a way to overcome that, most Middle Eastern countries would much richer!!!
all the omani's come to dubai to medical services Now the Dubai Govt have slapped a Huge Fee for Only Omani's!
According, to my knowledge the Ministry of Health sends Omanis to UAE for some health services that are not available in Oman or for services that have a long waiting for months in Oman. However, all such services provided by the UAE are PAID for by the Omani ministry of health...... so believe me you are not giving us any charity!!!!
For your knowledge, neighbouring countries always support each other for medical services even in the West. At some point in the United Kingdom, the National Health Service (NHS) had very long waiting lists. So they ended up having to send some of its patients to France for medical attention!!

Yeah you gotta admit that H.M. is looking incredibly fit and healthy now. I was impressed with his pictures with Jacques Chirac during his trip to France this summer. Wish I can look as good as he does when I'm 63.
Seham I think we should have not said like that to the fellow Emirati.
We should have showed them we're unlike them, or else otherwise what is the difference between us and them?
It's just that I have tell this fellow Omanis are at least working thier @ss off like Indians nowadays in many departments in UAE especially in the Armed Forces, so to invade your country my dear fellow it's easy... hehehe just kidding, i'm talking like kids my baba can hit your baba kind of stuff... hehehe...
However, just remember that without standing for each other our nations will only go down. Whatever companies are there in Dubai or whatever states of the UAE will only be there for a while, no one lives for ever, so no business lives for so long, petroleum companies will back off, once UAE is out of that, later on factories and other companies and then it will become a desert but nothing else..... If you study organisation life cycle pretty good, you will understand what I'm talking about... however we're going out of the topic...
People I need answers to the questions... please lets not go out of the topic, someone just went out and started teaching me law of Oman and he/she insulted me by saying something which he was supposed to tell me through a PM and not here.
However it's ok, well guys be within the topic
I read someone saying not to mention or say anything about him here anymore...
however, he maybe looking fit now, but he wasn't when we had a personal visit to him. That's why I said that b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t...
MusicMan 11-09-03, 01:08 PM You really have a way to make yourself feel good amid all the misery and poverty there is in Oman!
So another question:
There are omani's sleeping on the footpath here in Dubai! - So which govt policy is this one?!
They are sleeping in this Hot and Humid climate Near DNATA close to Al Futtaim - This is just for the ppl to come and see!
Now if you all don't mind, lets get into our topic here, and see what all people come up with?
Come on people lets see how many of you want to give new ideas, and how much productive we are for our country...
That Emarati said that we abused their medical service... :( feel sad for that.
What all services should be improved? i remember one of the mates wrote that we have to stop wasta. Everywhere it's wasta nowadays and also curruption such as taking brivary from non omanis in order to do things for them. Well how can we stop that? I would say the foreigners or expatraits brought this to our country? what do you people think?
What about the Directorate General of Traffic? How about our police?
Blue Chi our mate there said something very good about the educational system, I think he is right. What do you all think? We're not getting enough attention to this thread I think :( no one is interested in our country or what?
Come on shabab/akhawati, what do you all think about our customer services in various places. Should we keep people of no knowledge in that area in supermarkets and all the other related areas? What about the immigration department?
What about the rest of the other departments?
Where should the most improvement brought to? which part? what is our country's back bone? is it where we need to strengthen first? or else is there any other parts or service we should take care of more?
Hoping all your answeres will within this, and not out of this...
Thanks
I really don't understand my friend... Can you please explane that one more time what you mean to say there?
Please????
Thanks
Well, I understand now what you mean...
I would proudly say that yeah there are Omanis in Oman itself or maybe out of Oman, I wouldn't know , but they're not even able to eat a meal a day. But at least I don't have to hide that my country is poor and show off in the outer world.
In UAE out of those who are rich you think there aren't any poors? then you're a sleeping beauty man, open your eyes wide and watch them for youself.
But I will proudly say that I feel much better when I'm in Oman then being anywhere in the world because of it's safety although there are crimes going on in oman, but ba3eed.. ok....
Remember always that, UAE always needs Oman as a Mother...because it is a part of our country, I think you know what I mean...
Then, we talk to people decent way not like others. So we always prefer that we respect others. We never talk like HOW YOU DO. Otherwise there is no difference between me and you, and we will be the same in every meaning which I don't want to be how YOU are.....
AGAIN MY PEOPLE, MY FELLOW FRIENDS, MATES ALL OF YOU PLEASE LETS TALK ABOUT WHAT IS OUR TOPIC OF THIS THREAD, DO NOT TRY TO INSULT EACH OTHER AS SOME PEOPLE ARE DOING HERE....
the-killer,
I think you should ignore MM .... anyone can blether. If he can bring facts, we'd all respect him..... anyone, can blether anything.... he has failed to be factual. So just let it go and let us stick to the main topic:
In my opinion as some described earlier we should spend less on the ministry of defence (MoD) and spend more on the ministry of Education (MoE) and spend more on the ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). At the moment 40% of the country's income is spent on the MoD .... why???!!!
What should we do for devloping our country?
we should really be serious about changing and stop thinking with our lower brain down under (if u know what i mean)
what is it that is missing in our country?
we need to open up our minds and stop pretending that everything is ok
what should we do to attract more tourism and other things in which we can make our country famous just like Dubai?
our country is already famouse we just need to make easy for tourist to come here, we have everything that can attact toursit
What should our government do for bringing up our economy?
stop monopolism
Is it something impossible for Oman to be a world famous country?
no it's not
Are we going to be like this forever till we get another Sultan or something?
remember we were nothing just 30+ years back
Your point is very correct, and which I admit that I forgot to look at and think about.
Good answers. Just have a read through on Blue Chi's answers, what do you think of them?
Azure, give us some more answers that we can stand all together for, but you got to read my new questions as well. Please free sometime and look at my last 2 or 3 posts one of them contain questions... please spare some time to read them.
Thanks

another thing in order for us to develope in Oman we need to respect queues and stand in line whereever and when ever then we'll know what being in a ssytem and orgnized means :angre:

HM has done everything he can, our country is as developed as any other neighbouring country in technology wise, but when it comes to mentality, the mentality of the majority of our nation is extremely primitive. Hope this makes sense!
About the education, I guess that conflicts with my previous post, but I was talking specifically about the educational system, which is obviously what the ministry has to take care of.
:D Good thing somebody is reading my posts! Heeeey! :D

Well how can we stop that? I would say the foreigners or expatraits brought this to our country? what do you people think?
I don't think that it was foreigners who brought was6a to our country, it is the opposite, foreigners are the only pityful individuals that will not accept it because they know it is wrong, in Oman there is no respect for queues and public order, everyone seems to seek his out personal desire completly ignoring the fact that there are other people who are waiting or are expecting to be serviced as well, I think that Omani need to be more open minded, the problem in Oman is that nobody really speaks up, I really wonder of why the media like TV and stuff talk about Was6a or make up shows to educate people telling people to respect queues or what so ever, I think that it would really help it was discusses as a public topic, but once again, we have no such thing as freedom of expression in this country.

I think what Azure meant is that some 'people in here' including you are kidding themselves and saying that 'people up there' have done their best to build this country when in fact that is not true...... every Omani knows that deep inside them but they like to act that everything is perfect including the 'people up there'!!! Now do you understand what he means by honesty! So we either say the truth about 'people up there' or we don't talk about them at all!!
Blue_Chi 12-09-03, 12:22 AM WOAH! Now that was really too much, well people always ask for more, always compare themselves with other BETTER countries, we might have been better than what we are now, but just look all the countries that are not as fortunate as we are.
Our governemt might need some improvement, but our nations NEEDS to learn gratitude.
yah... yah.... yah continue kidding yourself! May be one day when you get hit by the brutality of the truth.... then you'd stop!!
Blue_Chi 12-09-03, 01:21 AM Seham, I believe you should stop fooling yourself, the human greed is infinite, we all want more, but there are just limits to everything, satisfaction is the real treasure, we should ask for more, but we should be grateful to what people have accomplished as well, SOME people do put effort, and they do deserve some kind of gratitude.
Shinoda LP 12-09-03, 01:26 AM I believe, you shouldn't ask for more. Never.
You make your destiny, and you see to it that you live a nice life.
Coming to think of it, I read this signature somewhere a long time back - "Don't ask what your country has done for you, ask what you've done for your country". (DP?)
....
You guys are not sure yourselves if you'll survive without oil, without Indians and foreigners, without a Sultan like the one you have today, without effort from a handful Omanis who go abroad and earn an education.
That's not an attitude I'd want, any day of the year.

Are you saying it is the Omanis fault that each year there is 25 thousand students that get added to unemployment each year ..... that SQU+Colleges+scholarships = a maximum of 20 thousand while school leavers are 45-50 thousand.
Is it the Omanis fault that there are huge big monopolists supported by government that don't allow people with small bussinesses to survive.
Is it the Omanis fault that a woman with 10 little children is widowed and the government would give her 30 R.O. to feed her kids and pay the bills.
Is it the Omanis fault that people are starving while muscat changes it is street light poles every day to more expensive ones.
Is it the Omanis fault that a woman catches HIV from her husband who dies and then she is treated like a 'ho.re' and drugs would be dispensed rarely because the government thinks it is cheaper she dies because the drugs are too expensive and they'd rather spent it on changing light poles on the main street .... although there is nothing wrong with the old ones!!!
Give me a break Chi.... please don't tell me it is the Omanis fault..... having said that I know that some people who have a job and these are a MINORITY, they don't work as hard as they should ...... BUT the MAJORITY are out there in despair. Please don't close your eyes from the truth because you got the chance to go to the best universities in the year you graduated while a year or 2 later someone who gets the same percentage ends up on the street!!!
So please don't act like it is perfect out their and that Omanis are lazy..... don't tell me that foreigners have taken OManis jobs when 80% of foreigners are paid less than 80 R.O. .... most are house workers.... is that the choice they are given....they should either work as a house maid or house builder and get 80R.O. which is not enough to pay the water you need to drink or the the bus/taxi you'll take to get to and from work......Wake up!
Blue_Chi 12-09-03, 03:44 PM I have to agree with you that it is not perfect up there, just like any other country, we have poverty, we do have unemployed, that is why we need to look for ways to develop our country, just don't expect the government to do everything for you, we need innovation and creativity to create new sources of income to our country and ourselves, although that you seem to see that the government does not guarantee a sufficient lifestyle to everyone, but you cannot deny that they have done alot to the country. If we do not "work for a change" nothing is going to happen, it is time the Omanis themselves go out and make their destiny, not just sit and ***** about the corrupted system doing nothing about it.
Quote [ Is it the Omanis fault that people are starving while muscat changes it is street light poles every day to more expensive ones. ] Unquote Mrs Seham.
Ironic isn’t it? I do agree with Mrs. Seham on the above question. No it’s Not the Omani’s fault. In this regard it is the municipaliti's fault or rather the town planning committee's fault. What was wrong with the previous poles? Nothing at all. The municipality has taken its notion of "beautify Muscat" too far. Why change the streetlight poles along Sultan Qaboos Street? Why change the street barriers again and again?
There was this metal street t barriers initially and after spending millions of rials putting them up to discover they are unsafe and decide to switch to concrete ones and spend millions again in the process? Why do that when section of our population out there is starving??? Haven’t they heard of feasibility studies or pre planning program that eliminates wastage???
I find it sheer stupidity or an act of sabotage to drain the treasury of its meager contents.
Can the president of Muscat Municipality come forward and enlighten us on the above crucial issue that bothers the Omani citizen???
It is irksome when these very same people answerable to the PEOPLE keep silent like zombies.
I think we need a new university, fully equiped and should be government owned. Not like the one Mr Mohammed Ali Managing Director of Gulfar opened. They're expecting to fill that university with international students from Gulf. I don't think so it's possible for the moment. In order to do that we really need our country to be known to the outer world much more. I think that we have to make something out of our revenue instead of putting that 40% into MoD we should put that money into building a new university.
Actually there was no need to open that Sultan Qaboose Grand Mosque now, instead of putting the whole money in building that mosque we should have built this university I guess. I think mosques are not going to give the country anything as nowadays I see more of expatraits in the mosques than Omanis.
Those monopolists, like Bahwan, Zawawi, Al-Hashar, Khimji and others should be stopped for a while from getting all the tenders and things, as they're not allowing the small businessmen to come up. As long as this doesn't happen I think we're not going a step upfront. Unless these people are stopped we're not going to get any kind of international business people coming down to our country. They're not stupid so that they drop in just like that, I think they will be better of when they compete with the Omani businessmen. For example, Omantel, all know who all have shares in it. Oman Air, everyone knows who all has shares in it, like Bahwan, I don't know how much he paid to the authorities to get the ground operations of the SIA and so fourth. It's all bloody politics.
Well, I wouldn't like to go furthur because I'm getting a little wierd at the moment when I talk about all these monopolists, because of what they've done to so many people in and out of Muscat which most of the people doesn't know.
GOD save Oman. May God bless us with new life and a free world.
It's for sure there are many people coming up with new ideas to our ministry of commerce, UNTRUSTABLE MINISTRY, and those ideas are being sold to those monopolists, and trust me one of them is the AAA service in Oman, I think everyone know who is sponsering that.... I don't want to write more!!!! God freeze my fingers...:shut: :shut: :shut:
So many of those who came up with new ideas and had to trust the ministry of commerce and industry, and had to submit their plans and reports of making that business, which of them were successful were sold, and the owner of the idea was told that he/she cannot be given business loan because of so and so reason, and later the same idea will be sold to one of the @ssholes I mentioned above as monopolists, and the very next month you can see he started that business. What a world of monopoly is our country??!!!! GOD SAVE OMANIS AND OMAN, MAY GOD BLESS OMANIS AND OMAN..
I feel very sorry for our country and our people who are trusting those authorities, all are currupted. If I was given a chance I swear I would prove what I'm saying as Tehlika Organisation did in India to show the people how much currupted is the ruling party. I would do that if someone gave me that much money to show the whole world how much curruption are there in various authorities of different gulf states, I just need the enough money and a live broadcasting facility..... CAN SOMEONE SPONSER HERE???????? :color: :color:
Homeless 12-09-03, 06:30 PM We should always try to work harder to improve out country and develop it in many different ways and all the ways possible, even by looking at other countries and making use of the advantages they have but I still believe that we should never compare cuz as I mentioned, comparing would never get us anything , and would never make us satisfied , cuz we r always going to keep comparing ourselves to other countries thinkign that we r not good enough.
7amdillah we reached as far as we r now as everyone mentioned that Oman was nothing 30 yrs back!
Oman have more freedom and more rights then Emarite Women.
We shouldnt always look at the dull sides but at how much we have acomplished in the past 30 years and how much we can acomplish in the coming yrs as well ... we cant do that when we dont even have hope or believe that can ever happen!!
Well written homeless. It is right if we compare ourselves to others, trust me, we're on the way to no where.
Something is always better than nothing, ya allah we just have to push people. Maybe some seminars would work. Before that we need freedom of speech which actually we don't have much of it. But I use that although I don't have it.
Let more of these good and interesting openions and suggestions come people keep it up. I am pretty sure if we give our people a chance to talk back home, so many of them will come with brilliant ideas.
Please, countinue with such good ideas, let them come out from you all.... Amir is PROUD TO BE OMANI, what about you?
Homeless 12-09-03, 07:40 PM I sm proud to be omani too :)

so now you guys understood what i meant up there and thanks Seham for making even clearer, but any way i'm not into politics but major changes need to be done in order for our country to develop are we ready for it???
I'm ready to develop our country by bringing new business, business companies and look after the quality of service I give to my people.
I am ready to occupy Omanis educated people, I would give them good salaries, I'd really like to show people in Oman and out of Oman that we Omanis are good enough to do any job, as long as we have people educated and skilled in the particular area. I'm looking forward in making my company as an example for others that we can keep 100% Omanis employed and employing company. I'm ready to train those who don't have skills by using others who have it. Then everything comes out of technology and I'm ready to provide it for Omanis to know more about using the new world technology. Ready to give those with talent a chance to show what they can do.
That's a promise I give out to everyone, that insha allah I will achieve something for my people.
I'm Omani, I'm Proud to be one.
I'm READY Azure, I'll give it a shot, and insha allah everything will work out... People do pray for me..
Thanks

Arabian Princess 13-09-03, 01:17 PM Seham, I will pretend I am the government for a moment and would like to take some actions regarding the problems you placed before ..
-- its not Omanis fault that we have lots of unemployment, this is why I will send back ALL forginers to thier countries back inorder to fit in the "majoity" of the unemployed Omanis you mentioned about.
-- The manicipilty was assigned with a budget to beatify Muscat but scince Omanis think its not making it more beatiful then will take the money and give it to the mothers who cant feed thier kids. it will sustain them for a year??? but then we might have less tourists because our countries are duller than other ..then we will have other people complaining that Oman is not spendnig on beatifying the country!!!!
here I will impose a personal tax on your income dear!
-- ok, so we have to give people all the medication so again another health tax (or insurance) should be done, from your income again!
This is how your problems could be solved, but do you think that implying tax on citezens will make them happy???
I can still hear the roaors of omanis when the 200 baiza per visit to the hospital was implyed.
Lets give credit to our country, as I said we have problems but not all of it is the problem of the government and yet they are trying to work. What can the government do when we have a big number of youth population?? Its trying to implement ways which they think is right but people are still complaining?!!!
again, am not saying we have a perfect situation .. but we have people who are not thanking for what we have too!!
'
people call for all kind of juctice from thier point of view dear .. they just dont accept that there maybe another side of the story!!
DukePhantom 13-09-03, 01:39 PM try to eliminate 7asad ...
u shouldnt worry about what other ppl have or dont have, but rather worry about your self ...
stop talking about ppl who do not concern u behind their backs ...
Love each other more ...
Be happy for each other no matter what ...
Stop being selfish ... they are others living in this world other than yourself and family ... (this is mainly to the ppl who steal from the Country's Money, I beleive it belongs to the ppl and the country)
Concentrate on Education abit more than appearences and materials (example. cars) ... dont get me wrong I love having a Porsche my self !!! but its not a priority !!
seek opportunities to improve and open more Jobs in the country and good decent investments for the ppl and the country.
Seek other income other than Petrol and Gas, I beleive we have very inteligent ppl in the country, with proper funds they can do more than what u think ... we need to be independent .. or atleast try.
the list can go on for ever ...
after all this, I'm Thankful with what we have now but I see room for improvments ...
I'm thankful that this country was ruled by His Majesty.
I'm thankful that we live in a decent, unspoiled, clean country.
Al7amdulilah
