I was watching CNBC this morning and I saw the place crowded with men wearing colorful coats,carrying notepads and yelling......Who the hell are these guys and why do they dress that way?.....they also make some wierd signs with their hands:lost: .....are these investors?

They are brokers …and they use sings to communicate as the place is very crowded and no one can hear anybody …but why do they wear coloured coats…I don know…may be to differentiate them from stock broker, bond broker, future and option broker..etc

We don have the same in MSM… the trading floor is much peaceful and quiet…

The colored jackets help identify people on the trading floor. For members, such jackets are optional. Member firms may outfit their members and assistants in one color of jacket to distinguish themselves from other firms and to help create unity within the firm. Among NYSE employees on the floor, dark blue jackets represent reporters who record trades, light blue jackets represent messengers, and green jackets represent managers.
