i am thinking of getting play station2...but i was wondering if you can help me in getting a good deal..i want the multi system one (where both original and copied cds can be played)..
where is the best place that will also give me good price for it?

I bought my ps2 2 years ago for US$700 and took it to hong kong and installed a chip that made it multisystem for US$100.....ofcourse its much cheaper now.....I think its cheaper if you buy it in dubai.....there is a video game shop near carefour in city center Dubai....You might find allready multisysystem ones.......There is another alternative to a chip......a boot disc ...they are cheaper but its annoying since u have to put it in everytime before you play a copied game.

yeah i heard that they are cheaper in Dubai when i was planing on getting one from Oman..

currently in Oman market i think i costs around 90 rials.. not sure about the multisystem thing but i think it is... or if not..with 10 rials probably u can get to do that in dubai.

I asked a shop in wadi and they told me that they sell in for 115RO with 2 joy sticks and 10 copy cds..so what do you think?

i went to CCC...and there is a Sony shop and the play station there is sold for 100Ro...multi system and if you want the original 2nd joy stick it is 13 ro..so in total 113Ro

i think i might for that one...as it is from the dealer and i get 2 original joy sitcks!

This is a very good deal 4everyoung. It is a good thing that you are buying stuff from Oman, although that I personally buy almost everything from the UAE, but I think that we should support our countries economy.

NEVER EVER buy non-licensed Joysticks, these won't last you two days, the original ones might be costy, but they are made to last.
Make sure you get a memory card as well, it is useless to play without one, and BUY THE ORIGINAL, you will need only one, and it will last you forever.

I am not associated with Sony in anyway, but I seriously believe that original accessories are the only way to survive, lol

Thanks Blu chi..i think its a good deal too and i totally agree with you that branded things are quality...and i dont mind if something is pricey as long as it is worth the money..

4-ever-young.....try going to al-araimi and go to the bottom floor....theres a shop there which sells dvd games and stuff....ask him.he'll help you.gives good deals...i personally buy all my ps2 games from him..both original and copied....and also he told he could chip my playstation for 25 rials and then i can play any copied game in the world....oh well im still wondering where do i get the money from:D ?

Abs, 25 Riyals is too much for a chipping a console, nowadays you can chip it for 10 RO, check out the shops in CCC, I've heard they do it cheaper there.

I've got a PAL Ps2, and its not modified or whatever, and I need to work copy DvDs... How, where, how much... Tell me...

I think that we have said everything above, I have chipped a PAL console in the UAE for 10 RO, so don't really accept anything more than 15 RO. Try CCC and places nearby.

Alright... I will check it out... But as I heard, the Chipping thing spoils the PS2 somehow or the original Cd's thet you use after the chipping! What do you think?

It might be true, but it is worth the risk, I mean you can buy another PS2 for the price of five origianl game CDs. I do not have any problems with playing original game CDs, DVDs, or even Origanl Video DVDs. If take care of your console and CDs you will not have any real problems.

it will be cheaper from there

there is no point in going to dubai just for the chip
it will cost the same
