It was brought to my attention that new members (registered for Sabla after 20th of August) who barely had time to post anything were voting for best August member and that totally absurd. How did they get the chance to know who was active in the whole month? I smell fraud and cheating and if this is how things are done here, then I urge the Moderators to remove my name from the voted list as I don’t want to be part of such dishonest and cheating scheme.

I suggest that members registered after 2/3 of the month has gone by, meaning after the 20th should not be allowed to vote and I also suggest that this voting should be cancelled and reopened again

i have checked the votes and so far.. both of you have have two members who registered after the 10th of this month .

so the results are pretty much the same..even after removing those.

a valid point that we thought about in the past But some how we forgot to state a rule about it!!!!!

i think the votes of all members who registered before August should be cancelled. that means 2 who voted for you and 1 who voted for me. it sounds good to me!!! and you're right it's unfair, they're giving you an advantage.:D

i'm not really bothered azure about the voting and who wins. it's not the world cup final.

what competition? you mean the previous month votes! i just joind the Sabla last month Abs and if the numbers of posts are any indication they show that i've been very active here, so i really don't know what you are talking about about and apology accepted :D

New members please dont post in the word games. please dont vote and well we are at it please dont post in any other threads either because your lack of understanding of anyone in the sabla will mean that you wont have a clue what we are talking about. .that said welcome to the family and i hope you enjoy your stay..

exactly!!! my opinion was that it was a trivial argument. Azures is quite different and as you rightly say this is cyber space and this is the sabla and we are all entitled to voice an opinion.. or may i ask is my opinion not valid?

But I dont see no big deal about voting, Last time I voted for Lujaina MHD I mean Ashura Member and this year I been called to vote for another member so I think I better go and vote there as long as my vote keep someone happy so no harm, does they make any change? Hell Nooooooooo. :twitch:

Ok Thug here is my constructive opinion if i may share it.

Ok azure has a point to say that the new members dont know who they are voting for so how can it be fair..

my arguments are these

1) How do we know if the new members dont know anything about who the are voting for as they could have been a view of the sabla for some time.

2)The new member may have seen or had 1 or 2 posts from or with one member that they really liked. or in the case of their introduction thread one of the old members may have said something in their greeting that the new member took a liking to. This is surely enough reason for them to cast a vote in support of someone that was nice to them.

3)It could be none of the above and simply that they want to take part and feel part of the sabla that they voted. We do after all say to our new members as was said to me. Welcome to the family.. What kind of impression do we give to a new member if we start saying you cant do this until this time etc..

4)These polls are for a bit of fun at the end of the day. the result of these votes will not change the course of history or divide continents. If a new member wants to take part in the enjoyment of this sabla by voting. whats the problem.. I fail to see how Azure thinks this is cheating or rigging a vote.. If a new member has a reason to vote then let them.. im sure if they have no reason to they wont.

Lets not lay down strict rules over something as unimportant as a vote for a fav member. I dont think it comes across as very friendly to our new members..
