Rule#1: It is strictly forbidden to disrespect His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Omani Government, its representatives and its policies. Mockery will not be allowed. It is the right of the administration and the moderators to remove a thread if they find the content insulting or sensitive.What does this mean?

If the "Omani Government" which is "His Majesty Sultan Qaboos" , that has the final say in all rulings, civil, criminal, policy everything does something stupid, you are not allowed to critizise his actions in this forum/website?

I'm sure I won't last long here :sweat: , because I will speak my mind :wink:

Oh yea Jack, your allowed to criticize the American Government and The Israeli government, but ....you'll be banned if you criticize theirs...You just have to accept it if you want to be a member here ;)

Big MO

D it's not just the american and israeli governments. you're allowed to criticize any government except the omani government.
ok let me put forward some reasons that might sound familiar to u:
* it's for national security. that's all u need to know.
* we can't reveal why as it'll jeopardize the security of our agents in the field.
* you're on a need to know basis and right now you don't need to know.

Jack/Dorella,

There is no policy or action that can't be criticised, it's just a matter of how you go about it. If you say the Ministry of Biscuits needs to do more to promote regional shortbread varieties, that's constructive criticism. If you say the Minister for Biscuits is a big a-hole and deserves to be beaten in the street, that is unacceptable.

I would say criticise what you like, just don't get personal to individuals, whether they're forum members or heads of state. That way nobody gets into trouble, and hopefully nobody gets offended either, while you still get to make your point.

Im sorry guys I stand with DorellaM post .. If we criticize other's like USA and the West we should be men enough to accept our own faults and criticizum .
We are not perfect and our Ruler is not God and our Government is just like any other Government it has it good days and bad days..

If we want to level up with people and with others we should stand up and speak free ( of course we have a culture and manners of how we should post and respect others) but ones idea has to be heard ...

Big MO

mods DP needs to be banned for life for saying we're not perfect. this is absurd.

And why you 'US' should you want to crisitize our home ? Haven't you anything better to think of rather than crisitizing us ? And and and why do you use word 'stupidity' and what has that got to do with the quote you posted in your thread. Do you regard our 'rules' "stupidity" ones ? We are a monarch and have long history to have been so. At least we are not a banditry, criminal, liars, or else. We are nobel ppl. If, if, if you think you should crisitize anybody here, then let us here what is your views about Scotland Yard getting involved in detaining an Iranian diplomat with a case concerning Argentina. Do you think UK has any legitimate claim do detain a diplomat for a third country's interests ? Link that with the requirements of the same nationals of Chile who demanded an arrest of Pinochet to be extradited to Spain for slaughtering the Spanish nationals. Let us here your valuable contributions jek

Now that the powers to be here at English Saba has reactivated my permissions to post, I will kindly answer.

With the exception of a slight stutter you seem to be a worthy verbal adversary with a bit more on the ball than posting in such threads as "This or That" blah blah blah.

If you will check my profile and click on the link that shows the threads I have posted in, you will see my interest varies widely. I do love politics and since you have thrown the gauntlet down, I gladly pick it up and except your challenge.

Pick a topic, start a thread and lets get busy.

I, i, i'd have loved to see other members precede me with a top`ic to engage you jack by let me ask you this since you are an U.S. electrical engineer.

What caused Baghdad electricity to have gone off and as we speak it has not come back for since April ? Iraqis say in HELPQ's era it would have taken hardly two days to come back. Also their tv is still off the air ?

jack

I would have to be there in Iraq to answer that? If you are there ask "HELPQ", whomever that is. Maybe he can shed some "light" for the Iraqi electrical system.

My understanding is that the Iraqi electrical system was in a state of shambles and a joke before the "incident", so I can only imagine what a mess it is today.

Would you like me to take you from the generator in the power plant......to the receptical on the wall that plug your tv in to get the news and all points in between?

I do believe they have electricity in Saddam Hussein's home town of Tikrit where they have uncensorered internet access today.

Also Is this an original of yours?Do not ask what your country has done for you
But ask what have you done for your country

HELPQ stands for :

H = His
E = Excellency
L = Lawyer
P = President for life
Q = Qaed (leader) : SADDAM HUSSAIN al-Naser al -Takriti al -IRAQI.

The 'conqueror of Ibn-Hud' (or Hudson) Institute of Conspiracies over the world.

He once fought 30 countries of the world and defeated them.

They again tried in 1998, and again Monica Lewinsky tried but failed.

When he HELPQ turned toothless the Americans and British Armies ventured in.

Yeah the quote on my signature is of my own have you seen anyone else possessing it ? If you do press a button on copy right and I'll have him sued him dead or alive ;)

jack

Thanks for the explantion on "HELPQ", but I guess it would impossible for him to get the lights back on in Iraq while hiding under a rock. He has more pressing issues at this time, like saving his own @ss.

About the sig line, how about a US president named John F. Kennedy in his inaugural speach.

As I remember it was this.

Ask not what your country has done for you
Ask what you can do for your country

Slight change in verbage, but exact meaning.
