"Are you a good muslim?"
Did you ever ask your self this question ?
But then, what is the definition of a "Good Muslim" ?
Is he the person who prays, does Zakat ... etc
Is he the person that believes in Allah and Mohammed, but is a bit lazy to pray all the prays although he tries his best ?
Is a good muslim an Islamic fundementalist ? Is there such thing as an Islamic fundementalist ?
These are the issues to be discussed in this thread insha Allah

well, as in my opinion non can know if he/she a good muslim or not, for example i cant tell you that am a good muslim couse i might think that am a good muslim but instaed there are some things that i didnt realse it, that should be done in my life and ididnt, therefor we have to search and try to be more then a good muslim.
even if a person prays , pay zakat, sadaqa, wear hijab .........etc.
there is some possiblity that he/she not a good muslim!!! who knows whats in your heart or other people hearts.
there are three steps that everyone must follow:
1.Islam(pray, Zakat...etc)
2.Iman(belive that Allah is one, his angels, his books....etc)
3.Ihsan
so if we say practisng (1) without (2) what will happen ?
i dont think doing somthing without Iman is a good muslim.
Something that really upsets me is when people say that since they have the 'belief' in them they don't need to practice it. I say it isn't true belief if it isn't being practiced.
Some say that doing the 'mandatory' (fardh) is enough and that makes them good muslims, I say you can never do enough, ever.
Islam is whorshipping through your heart, mind and every physical part of your body; from your hands to your feet.
A good muslim will never think he is good, he will always feel that something is missing, that he should be doing more and he'll keep on doing it no matter what life throws at him, no matter how good people tell him he is.....
Is he the person that believes in Allah and Mohammed, but is a bit lazy to pray all the prays although he tries his best ?
If he's trying his best that means he's DOING it. I'm sick of people who say that they 'believe' but they don't DO anything. If you truely believe then doing the things should follow....and if you're not doing it then sorry but, there's something wrong about your beliefs.
Guwantanamist 22-08-03, 11:55 AM When Mohammed (Peace be Upon Him) was sent to the human race as a messanger from Allah, he was to be the last messanger from Allah until judgment day. He was sent to all nations with teachings that were wide enough to cover every aspect of life related to human beings.
(This day, those who disbelieved have given up all hope of your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me. This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islâm as your religion.)
Allah who have created us knows what is best for us,
أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ
(Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything).)
Allah did not creat us without a goal did he ?
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
"Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?"
Although the main goal is worship Allah,
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
(And I (Allâh) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).)
But actually the ways of worshiping Allah are also goals that are related with our every day life in this earth.
(To be continued)
1+1+1=ones 22-08-03, 04:19 PM Nice thread bro I hope it will motivate the muslis hear . Some times think that im a good muslim but when I discover that there is some one better than me I try to be like hem .when I be in that that level I discover that there is some one who is better .
Muslims are levels and some time your are a good muslim and some times maybe not
I wonder what is Osam’s Bin Laden level
:6:
I wonder what is Osam’s Bin Laden level Is Osama bin Laden even considered a Muslim after ordering the killing of so many innocent non-believers and also believers.
He is Muslim no more. Just another common crimnal in this world.

i second that:)
what u get later, is a result of what u are doing...so ppl know themselves very well wiether they are a good muslims or not
Guwantanamist 24-08-03, 04:20 PM For example when we are doing our best to invent new technoligies for the benifit of the human race, then we are worshiping Allah. Hence one way of worshiping is building this world.
The point i want to reach to is that Islam as a religion have balanced between spiritual and physical worshiping. All for the benifit of the human him self. And if anyone has any dought then he should go back read about Islamic teachings and spot out the teachings that are not directing humans to a better life in this world !
Conclusion is that all teachings have a reason, wheather they were direct physical teachings or physical teachings.
This gets us into a new point which actually is a question. That is if Islam teachings are actually for the benifit of humans, then how do we have - these days- several levels of Islam ?
We keep hearing about:
1) Islamic fundementalists
2) Blanced Muslim (مسلم معتدل)
3) مسلم متساهل (anyone knows the translation?)
Now the big question is, how did these phrases came ? Did islam actually come with different levels or did it come as one whole chunk ? What happened and how did these deffinitions come into the tongues of everyone ?
On which one of these do we put our names ?
And lots of other more questions that makes us think and wonder....
(to be continued ...)
Now since we (muslims) know this very well, why do we insist on some stupid acts that are islamically not allowed ?
Dark Project 25-08-03, 02:46 PM To me a Muslim is a person who has surrendered his fate in Allah will and has hope that he will inherit heaven.
A Good Muslim is a person who people are safe from his hand and tongue and actions.
Of course has to keep up with the 5 pillars and the beliefs.. I do not know if I am a good Muslim or not only He knows and Hope He has mercy on us all.
I don't see anyone here who's able to define 'a good muslim'!!
So, in my opinion, 'no one' can define a 'good muslim'....... therefore, how can you practice being a 'good muslim'!!
You can't practice what you don't know!!!!!
i try to be a good muslim but i always fail. don't know why but i always do.
what exactly the purpose of this thread? to establish the good muslims and bad muslims?

i don't count people like Bin Laden as muslims. they are people who misunderstood Islam and gone astray.
I am trying to be a good muslim by not hating anyone. Allahu Akram.
