But frankly speaking and knowing the Omani community in East Africa particularly all those places you've mentioned are well Omani connected. Now tell me, which part of Uganda ? does Arua mean anything ?

Well, then you might have stayed in or around Babati, Arusha, Shelui or Singida. That part of the globe to have picked those 'lughats' or rather languages. Can't be any other place as kichaga is not widely spoken outside Uchagani. Right.

UmHamed actually my reason for bringing african language on the limelight is because of Sol's initial post seemed to be containing a degree of shyness to speak kiswahili.

I don't see why we Omanis should not be proud of kiswahili ? Any reason ?

And, and, and MusicMan doesn't sound to have read the history of his own country Oman. Right ? Why not pay a visit to the Ministry of National Heritage and pick up some free books ? It is worth it

Asante SoMy unajaribu vizuri. Endelea bibi soon you'll be better than the rest of us.

Mmm; "Weye ni nduguyako [or yake] H-Highness au siyo" ?

Note:

in kiswahili the letter 'u' represent 'oo' in english and 'o' in kiswahili is like 'aw' in english. For example:

kuku is not koko. Uyu means this for a person and not 'oyo'.

I hope i have been of some help.

Another mistake people make is : language is 'kiswahili' and not 'swahili'. Example;

ki-ingereza = English we don't say 'ingereza'
ki-arabu = Arabic we don't say 'arabu'
ki-hindi = Indianic we don't say 'indi' nor 'hindi'

etc.

Salaam/Hello/Chitoree

Thanks everyone for your nice and kind words. I am extremely sorry for the delay in replying to this post but here goes.

Here is my life history to those who are curious to know who I am.
My Late Parents who are also cousins were from Iran - Nikshar. They were both Baluch and so I got this name from them. I myself together with my sibblings were born and raised in Kenya. All my sibblings now live in Canada and I am here in U.K.

Just because one speaks English does not make him white, to those who live in Pakistan are they also baluch or should we call them Pakistanis? Yes I do have relatives in whole of east africa, Gulu is in North of Uganda if I am not mistaken, my late dad used to travel there alot.

I have a lot of relatives in Oman who live in Mawaleh and Ruwi. In Iran they are scattered some in chahbar, Zahedan, Nikshar, Tehran.

"Man balocian harkas bawar kant bekant na kant makant" - I dont need to prove to anyone I am a Baluch.

Mr MusicMan I dont need an apology from you.

Ah ` malezi !! [ or manner to those who don't speak kiswahili] I must say. Well said.

That was very true indeed. At last I wasn't mistaken regarding Omani connection.

Now for those Omanis who don't know an iota of Omani history back to school youuu go!!!!!!!!
