Choc, i can't name my son all these names. ronaldo would do.
and Ferguson is clever ok but do u think Real Madrid need him?? of course not. it's just for marketing purposes.
as i recall ..Sami el Jaber used to play in one of the English clubs ...is he still playing there or returned to el Hilal??
Sami went to Wolverhampton a couple of seasons ago when they were playing in the first division. he didn't impress and came back to AlHilal few months later.
Chocolate 18-08-03, 09:46 AM Yeah true ,,, Becx is more like a busniness toy right now!
Personally I enjoyed seeing the nw signing of Man U Ronaldo play and I want to see what he can do when he join s the National team Portugal they'll be playing a friendly soon
Hmm it wasn't a penalty!!
Wait a minute .. i mean the goal by peres.. whatever the spelling is.
the 2nd goal was crap too :(
reflected twice by the keeper after two shots by Henry and Vieira untill 3rd shot by Pires entered the goal
but Arsenal are cool and dandy, except the refeere will start messing again, did you see the red card against campbel!!? that was very unfair!

yes it was crap. i didn't wanna say it. i think evilio was watching the Blackburn game. there were some beautiful goals in that game.
did you see the red card against campbel!!? that was very unfair!
i thought it was a clear red card. the rules are very clear about obstructing opponents when they're in a goal scoring position. Campbell was the last man before the keeper and he left the ref no choice really. he had to go.
grasshopper 18-08-03, 07:10 PM MO.. i wouldnt go as far to say "a well deserved win" Both teams played badly on the day. Liverpool dominated the pace of play in the first half and were caught on the break for the Veron goal. Second half chelsea settled into the match and over all probably just deserved the win. What you have to remember is that liverpool were down to 8 men.. i mean we had Heskey, Deuff, Biscan..... thats like playing My mum, my dead grandmother and the one legged war veteran.
Notably several of the top strikers of the premiership missed penalties. Owen and Nistlerooy being 2 of them. i think Henry missed one as well.
What was most noticable was that despite the millions spent at chelsea this summer they didnt look the team they threatened to be atall.

:D :D that's not fair espcially on Deuff. his trickery won a penalty.
Heskey, i have no idea what Houlier and Erriksson see in him:duh: :eyes:
What was most noticable was that despite the millions spent at chelsea this summer they didnt look the team they threatened to be atall.
i agree but it takes time for so many new players to jell together and work as a unit. what i like about most of Chelsea new signings is they're young and British which means they're building a team for future.
for a team to come to Anfield and take all three points is an achievement in it self.
grasshopper 19-08-03, 12:07 PM like Veron you mean?
I will admit its nice that Chelsea have finally decided to field more than one english player.
It will be interesting to see how they gel.. Could have a great side or could be a complete nightmare. Buying a side does not always work. Good luck to them though.
if u ask me Liverpool's biggest problem is Houlier and not the players. His boring defensive style just doesn't suite Liverpool. i really hope Liverpool find their feet again and be a great side like they used to.
I forgot to thank Big Mo for the results...Keep them coming.
Hey i noticed one thing....Nobody said anyting about the draw between newcomers Leicester City and Southampton.
Lol i live in leicester so i must say god those people are crazy about their team...I just hope leicester dont get the drop coz the manager has impressed a lot and hopefully he can do well with the crap team he's got.
grasshopper 19-08-03, 09:54 PM lol thats cos noone cares about leicester ABS lol...
thanks MO. yeh i kind of agree with you. they are too defensive. its good that they have that side of the game sorted but you have players like Gerard being held back in their own half and thats ridiculous.
the black and white party makers against the red devils....that'll be gr8...i cant wait for that...
.newcastle united number one fan!;)
uk_v8 welcome in sabla,
Newcastle were an excellent outfit last season and this season will be no difference. i saw them against Leeds last weekend and they looked the better side.
Today Newcastle and Man Utd will play….gonna be a good one…
the first half has just finished and Newcastle are leading by a single goal.
the goal came from the Newcastle number 9 (Alan Shearer).
45 minutes to go. Newcastle 1 - 0 Man Utd.
will update any action.
Nooooo... this is bad...:(
this stupid Shearer :fire: now i hate him.
I hope Newcastle win...Hate man utd.
By the way Mo whats going on about arsenal, leicester and chelsea?
final score:
Newcastle 1 - 2 Man utd
Van Nisterooy and Paul Schols with the two goals for United.
Abs this was the early kick-off game. the other games will kick-off in a couple of hours.

They should've lost 5-1 but they lost 2-1...theres a big difference mate...it doesnt matter how they lost, losing is losing. But what hurts me is that they lost...i hope they keep top form throughout.Go Leicester!!!!
And im starting to like chelsea...I hope either they or arsenal win this time.(the league)
D.am.n to newcastle....stupid wankers.they should've won but somehow united always come back.

Go Arsenal.:6: Thats the way...I hope they thrash borough by 6 goals.
not 6 Abs, just 4. final score:
Middlesbrough 0 - 4 arsenal
goals from Henry, Wiltord (2), Gilberto Silva
Yes!!!!!! Even 4-0 is a good score especially considering they were playing a good team in borough....

grasshopper 27-08-03, 02:14 PM You forgot to mention tonights game..
Spurs v Liverpool
COME ON THE REDS!!!!
this might come as a shock to you grasshopper but i used to love Liverpool. they just played best football in Europe when they had Barnes and Beardsley. those two were a joy to watch.
grasshopper 27-08-03, 02:56 PM not atall Mo.. i had a feeling you had a little soft spot for them..
And yeh they used to have a great team.. ooooh the glory days of kenny dalgliesh.. i remember them well.. one day mo. one day we will get those days back again.. doesnt look like this season though.
well Liverpool have the potential to be great again. u just need a new manager and 8 more quality players. Owen, Gerard and Hypia to remain. the rest can be sold to West Brom Albion or somebody like that.
grasshopper 27-08-03, 03:32 PM ha yeh probably right. we could with the celtic boss and bring larson with him. i think both our keepers are ok though and if kewell can get his confidence up he will be usefull as will Baros if Houllier would play him more. Riise, Murphy and Hamann i like as well.
as for
Biscan, Heskey, diouff, cheyrou, dio and smicer... what is Gerard thinking..
Blackburn 2 - 3 Man City
i like Kevin Keegan and i'm glad City have gone off to a good start to the season.
grasshopper 28-08-03, 01:49 PM Ok Mo. dont even mention it.. I KNOW!!!!!! again we fail to get a 3 points again we dont score in open play...
Shock result of the night was Man U v Wolves..
everyone was predicting 5-0 or 6-0 to man u.. the bookies even had odds as low as 60-1 for a 10-0 victory for them..
Fergie in his usual over arrogant style decided not to field his first time in the starting line up and very nearly paid the price..
Wolves on the night deserved a win and were most unlucky not to get a draw. there were moments when the dominated the game and certainly pressed man utd into a panic striken last quarter.. Ohhhh they were so close.. better luck next time wolves.. Take a hike fergie!!
oooops nearly forgot to mention..
Man U 1 - Wolves 0
Spurs 0 - LFC 0
Arsenal 2 - Villa 0
ooh dear, the kop is crying once again. i just hope they dont repeat last season's awful run without a win. what was it 11 or 12 games without a win?? they're too good for that.
anyways the gunners are on fire once more.
grasshopper 28-08-03, 06:04 PM 11 run without a win in 50 years.
I agree with you on the defensive style but then the last few games that i have seen he has played a much more attacking line. but still nothing. bad passing and lack of confidence all not helping..
and yeh the arse look on top form.. GODDAMMIT.. no ill have to listen to my dad go on and on about it....
we have one happy hoppister. congrats grasshopper. this win counts for double and at Goodison too.

WALK ON WALK ON!
always good to win. even better beeting them blues!
Poor old Rooney couldnt hit a barn door on saturday. they deserved a goal though Everton and after a scrappy first 20 turned into a good game to watch. Good to see Heskey sitting down in the box when owen is crossing balls in.. And good to see a goal form Kewell.
And as for Soton V man u.. ...Get in SOTON. great result.
Gooners were lucky.. they still had Seaman playing for them today i think. what was he doing on that second goal.

the problem with Arsenal is that when they play poorly in one game they continue the streak of playing poorly for at least 3-4 games and i think they'll lose Sunday agaisnt Man U 'cause Man U are hot right now :( :bang:

i have no idea why the penalty was re-taken but the second goal was not offside.
20min Van Nistelrooy should've scored but his header goes over the bar.
21min: first yellow card of the game. Keane is booked, surprie surprise!!!
40min: pressure pressure from United but they have nothing to show for it.
first half finished and it's sill 0-0.
80min: Vieira sent off. Van Nistelrooy the cheater gets Vieira the red card.
Stoppage time and it's a penalty for United.
Van Nistelrooy hits the bar from the spot. no goal. hehehe:D :D

ooh RA what are we gonna do with you??
a yellow card is a caution, so it's given to players who commit a reckless challenge, waste time etc.
red card is a send off. it's given for really really bad reckless challenges.
two yellow cards in the same game is equivelant to a red card.

i agree it was nice to Nistelrooy being shoved by Arsenal players. i don't like him at all.
grasshopper 24-09-03, 02:23 PM I dont think its nice to see that sort of behaviour in a game atall.
A match like that is pretty much one of the biggest fixtures of the season in the english premiership and is watched by millions.
What kind of example is being set if young aspiring footballers watch their favourite footballers behave like idiots.
Im no lover of Van and im well aware of how easy he goes down in the box but arsenal are just as guilty.. look at last weeks game that saved a point for them.
Vierra was wrong to kick out at Van in the box and he knows it. Doesn't matter if he made contact with him or not he struck out at him and you cant do that.
I just think its sad that a big fixture like this is being more talked about for its low points than being remembered for the great game of football it should have been.
will someone pass the napkins please. ooh hoppy that was so touchy. what happened to you mate? i thought you were a scouser!!
but seriously speaking i agree with you. btw that was Arsenal's 52nd red card under Wenger. that's 52 in seven years.
grasshopper 24-09-03, 03:29 PM lol MO. you are so in trouble.
Scousers have been famous over the years for their fair play!
Do you remember an incident a few years back when robbie fowler actually turned around to the Ref and argued that he should NOT be given a penalty and then deliberatly missed it..
how often do you see that.
I know it all gets heated and passionate but at the end of the day im a lover of football and dont like to see it spoiled by stupid behaviour on the pitch

i saw that live. it was against Arsenal at Highbury. and yes it was a great gesture. i was stunned to see Fowler waving to the ref no, it's not a penalty. never seen anything like that in my life. ok ok ok you scousers are not bad after all.
i will not mention Hysel.
grasshopper 25-09-03, 04:27 PM yeh we couldnt believe it either. i think Fowler got quite a telling off from evans at the time.
small text or not i saw that MO!
I dont think a thread about the premiership is the place to mention the Heysel tragedy. And its a very sore subject that i certainly wont argue out in here.

Hoppy just remember this from the other thread,
Liverpool - Sophie Ellis Bextor
Individually all the components look fantastic - just doesn't work when put together.
you need a manager who can make all the components work together, not one who hides behind injuries excuses.

just in case salamat has missed out on any other recent developments. Kenny Dalgliesh no longer plays for us and Bob Paisley died...
We finally won a game on saturday. YAHOOO. even if it was to the less than mighty leeds. its game in the right direction. and always good to see Manu get a good pasting.
By the way not premiership but do the Arse have a team policy that they have to play like tired old wankers when they are in europe.

and isn't that great. i'm beginning to dislike that arrognat french manager. he had the nerve of accusin Mat Holland of diving when a couple of weeks ago he was defending the french cheater Peres. Wrenger, just shut the f*** up and get on with it.

hey Q chill we're just messing with you.
grasshopper 28-10-03, 03:57 PM stop making fool of me!!!
Dont take it seriously Q. just having some fun. Good to see a girl in here taking an interest in football.
Mo totally agree with you about Wenger. He is worse than Fergie these days. Both of them are far to arrogant. Thats why Manu got a pasting on saturday. they were over confident and fulham played their hearts out.. As for Wenger and his accusations of cheating. Thats rich eh. last time i checked the Arse have one of the worst records for yellow and red cards over the last few seasons, Assaulting another player (van the man), is also frowned upon, and diving in the box is not exactly fair play is it..
Unless of course your name is Arse Wenger and its your side doing the diving and fouling.
Q do you support any english teams atall.. if you dont yet. ignore all the other advice you may read in here.. support Liverpool. they may not be as successfull as Manu or Arse at the moment but you wont hear everyone slagging them off for playing unfairly.. Besides if you start supporting the Arse or Manu or Chelski i wont speak to you ever again..... :p
