Yup what do you use for your hair....

I used to use a lot of gel before because i used to think thats so cool and keeps your hair held together....But then when i noticed people going bald due to it i shifted to hair cream....

But now im completely into hair oil as i feel its the oldest and the best hair food out there....

So what do you use?

A'7eee.......

Wouldn't hair oil make you look like Ross from F.R.I.E.N.D.S or John Travolta in Grease?

Abs

Well i hope you've heard of the saying "better beware now then regret later"....

I think i could loose a lot of hair if i use gel or cream so thats the most important reason why i use hair oil...

And hey c'mon i dont use it as much as roos or travolta use....I use it little enough to make them shine..Thats all.

So what do you use by the way?

Enigma

lol......... I'll have to take your word on that then.

Anyways, I use that Omani oil stuff. My friend's mom makes it out of natural ingredients. I leave it on for a day and wash it the next.

Or I use VOS hot oil treatment bottles. Those are great......try one Abs.

I don't put gels in my hair or creams when I style it......it makes it too shiny..and I prefer the bouncy/healthy look.

I use L'Oreal's Volumax hair mousse after I wash my hair when I want it to look different.

The mousse sort of curls it and it looks nice with all those springy waves :color:

Becuase my hair is already Oily naturally i somehow just don;t use anything as it staies just fine with out anything. However I started using some oil to give my hair a beautiful smell but can;'t seem to get it here in Oman which means i have to tell "Chocolate to send me some from Australia" ;)

Anyway for now I use Sunsilck which gives you a nice smell and has some Heena whatever can;lt remmeber the whole thing :D . I apply it when my hair is wet and never touch it till i wash my hair once again!

Amoor Bro, you can go to ur nearest Salon

Well I will start with my simple sarcastic, why do men want spend much time and money on the hair? I mean Military crop doesnt need all that care, particularly after wash. Longer than that u will start spending more time and money on shampooing, conditioning, right haircut, gels, hair dryers etc then what we (Woman) will DO?

Anyway back to the topic, I use moisturising shampoo and condiotiner which are light, creamy and contain UV damage protector, multivitamin and vegetable protein. Also I use deep condiotiner treatment once a week. Oooow yeah also I go for regular trimming, the list is long but I think gonna stop here.

Bytheway just wanna point, my hairdresser told me that Desalination water leaves hair dry and lifeless :tiered:

I hate oiling my hair as its straight and makes me look like a drenched Cat lol. I prefer Hair mousse after washing it, it gives me some nice waves and for the next 2 days i just run my fingers through and dont comb, the effect is wonderful lol. For guys who want curly hair, dont comb your hair just apply mousse and run your fingers through your hair.

Abs I think its importat to oil your hair cause alot of men go bald very fast especially those with straight hair I wonder why. And you dont need to wash your hair daily, 3 times in a week is fine unless you have oily scalp. The best way to damage your hair is through Blowdrying, try to avoid it coz it really damages your fine hair.

Hot oil treatment is best. If you are too shy to visit the salon, just get a Sachet from the store and its very easy to use. If I am not mistaken, after oiling your hair, apply a hot towel over your hair for some few minutes. Dont try this at home if you are not sure PLEASE!!

I think Men with short hair look very cute. But I do know some with long hair and ehem they look very good too lol

My mum keeps on telling me to do that, but I'm just too lazy. I mean, every week?!

Probably explains why my hair's drying out..

I do this instead: After washing your hair, put in some conditioner and cover your head with a shower cap. Leave for 20-30 minutes. Rinse out. Voila! :)

I never did any hair steaming or any medication or used any products to my hair what so ever.
The only annoying this about my hair is that it gets oily when its blow dried the next day.
Recently i've been using hais mousse ( Lor'eal ) to get wet looking curly hair so I have to wash my hair nearly daily!!

I love my pantene shampoo cuz it gives my hair more volume although its 2 in 1 but my hair tends to get dry so I use to Wella Herb conditioner which smells so so good!

my advice:

1. put oil - whatsoever oil u prefer- on ur hair for abt a night or a day and then wash it with shampoo..

2. if u want to make it shine, after washing it immediately put some oil or cream on it..

3. to make it strong, dye it with henna mixed with some olive, an egg, some honey, and some youghurt.. and sleep.. and in the morning wash it..

The combination is all wrong first u use oil which makes ur hair softer and shiner okay but then u add egg well sorry to break this to u but egg makes ur hair dry ! okay and mixed with honey and yogurt thats even worse !!!!

my friend tried this same reciepe and her hair became very dry !!!

ok i agree hot oil is good for the hair is stimulates the hair follicle but this whole reciepe put together is a NO NO !!!

and as mimosa said its like putting breakfast on ur head !

i never ever put oil after washin ma hair it will make me look like an indian coz i've got this stright hair. i only put oil (coconut oil) once every 2 week before sleeping and in da morning i wash it off with 2 kinds of shampoos (sonds weird but works) first sunsilk lemon and orange thats for oily hair coz ma hair is abit at the oily side, then i wash it off and put another shampoo (panteen the green one for smooth n silky hair) after washing it off i pore half cup of vinger+half cup of water to it. to keep it shiny with no tangles.
thats wha i always whenever i wash ma hair.

I think alot of people who have dry hair is due to a lot of blow drying and maybe straightening their hair. Do not use 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner but opt for the two separate one. I am using Dove shampoo and conditioner at the moment and its brilliant. Even the shower gel is really lovely for those who have dry skin. The best oil for dry hair is coconut oil which I am sorry doesnt smell too good. Just apply it over night and shampoo your hair twice in the morning, finish it off with your conditioner. You should always condition your hair after shampoo. Heena is the worst product for colored or for dry hair. If you wish to relax your curls, just coil your hair when damp and open them when they have dried, the result is amazing. Alot of direct heat from the sun is also bad so try to be in the shade lol. :)

I think you need to buy that machine (I don't know.. think it's called a steamer?). Anyway, there's this thing you put in your hair (it comes in the form of oil or cream I guess - you can buy it at the supermarket) and you sit under the steamer for almost an hour.

Amoor Easy way, I will tell you...
First you have to get either a bottle of VO5 Hot Oil Treatment or a packets which will have about 10/12 peices of treatment tubes.

What You Have to Do:

Place unopened tube into a cup of hot water for one minute to heat. Use before shampooing. Massage contents of tube into wet hair. Leave on up to one minute and then rinse hair, scalp and skin thoroughly. or you could take a towel wet it with hot water squeeze the towel to get rid of water... and then cover your head with the hot towel for couple of mins. Shampoo as usual.

VO5 Hot Oil formula is designed to work best when rinsed within one minute of application. it can be used weekly or more often as needed.

selma
30-08-03, 04:49 PM
This one I got it from the website
http://www.pioneerthinking.com/hotoiltreat.html

Hot Oil Treatment

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon soybean oil
2 teaspoons castor oil
Directions:

Combine ingredients then warm on low heat. Massage mixture into the scalp and hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel for 15 minutes. Shampoo & rinse out.

selma
30-08-03, 04:51 PM
And This One

Rosemary Hot Oil Treatment (For Dry Hair)
Ingredients:

1/2 cup of dried rosemary leaves
1/2 cup olive oil
Directions:

Combine ingredients then heat up until warm. Strain. Coat the entire scalp and ends of hair with the oil mixture. Wrap hair in saran wrap and a towel over that, leave on for 15 minutes. Wash hair twice to remove the oil. Use this treament twice a month or when your needs a deep conditioning. Leaves your hair shiny and rehydrated.

But I use the first Method.. VO5 Hot Oil Treatment
