View Full Version : pumpping the sablah up!
Moon light 15-06-00, 08:31 AM I feel the sablah here is a quieter than the arabic version. So I have a subject that could 'pump it up'. (may be?)
Most of you probably in senior positions, I'm not.
But are you satisfied with your current position?( comfort, participation, career, development, employer traetment, salary, .. etc.)
or do you wish you've worked for another place instead?

Kamakazy 15-06-00, 10:57 AM i'm a student but got a job this summer, and i think that i will continue here even though i will continue me studies as well.
whenever someone starts a new job he/she will always start at the bottom of the ladder with a salary that he/she deserves. by time and hard work we could all climb that ladder to success and achieve what we wanted out of work. plus, we could make Oman a better place to live in.
a saying my father always told me "find a job that you like and you will never work a day in your life"

Tonight...I looked up at the stars, and I wonder where you are. Tonight I gazed upon the moon, in hopes that I would see you soon.
couch-potato 16-06-00, 07:08 AM I agree with joyful , a job that you like? which century will that be in, today people have to work to eat , no work no food , so take anything they give you as long as your kids are not hungry at night.

"Do what you have to do"
curious7 22-06-00, 07:27 PM Well talking about fiding a job which you like !!! . DO you really think its that easy to get what you want this days . Life is changing .. and will always keep on changing as long there are new things which are being made.
I am a working person . Being working for almost 2 years now ... and the question is .. do I really like what I am doing???. The answer is simply "No" . I was never Intrested on pc's nither in programming.. but i had no choice . I believe not all what you want you get . And all what you get ur yet not satifed . I don't think I will continue doing this job .. I just feel that its not me . Lucky me that i am not married nither do I have responsabilities such as paying the electricity water and phone bills or having kids .
If you a very lucky enough you will get a job which you like .. but that only if ur lucky .
Cheers.

the problem with choosing a good job comes from the beginning...when you choose your major...but most of us have no choice...we don't choose what we like...we choose what the country needs...
and most of the time they(the government) choose it for us...
i always dreamed about being a doctor...but.. because i wanted a scholarship and my scores weren't that high not 99%...i couldn't do what i want..and i chose 9 majors...and the government selected the computer science for me....i don't know if i'll succeed in this major but i know that i have to try...
good luck

Mambooooooos............. :)
Raneen elHayat 01-07-00, 06:00 AM Well... to say the truth... I'm a student and I enjoying studying.
I agree with you all that we cannot always get what we want especially the career and studying. Talking about dreams, I had so many dreams, logical dreams, but they remained as dreams!!! BUT I did not give up although I got so sad and disappointed. I always believe that it does not matter if we felt the pain when we lose the war agains anything, but the most important thing is to NEVER EVER GIVE UP. So, maybe your career or major is not what you dream of, but you have to find the interests that are hidden with what you are doing or studying and try to enjoy them.
I know that life is so tough but we have to TRY to enjoy it by doing what we like or at least liking what we do as far it is right.
And as I always say:
" I don't have everything I love, but I love everything I have." http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif
