Hey all!

I know, I know.. I've been such a useless member when it comes to posting threads or even replying to one. However, I'm back again and I willing to put an effort this time. :)

I dont know whether anyone will have any interest in the topic, however, it's something that I have been reading about and found interesting recently.

Its about Online communities - Well there are efforts to build useful virtual communites online. Some communites are cheritable in nature, like support groups and other communites are more commercial (auction users, scuba divers, musicians and marketing professionals). Are any of you interested or visit any online communites, do you know any industry that has successfully built communities and achieved very well???

What are the important features of a marketplace that would allow an organization or a company to build a virtual community that would meet their objectives as well as their members' objectives? Does the "industry" or target market make a difference??

Lets Communicate :D

Well Maya i think Yahoo has the biggest online community rate....{someone correct me if im wrong:D }....But thats what i think...Yahoo has been pretty successful in online communities and have done very well for themselves....

What are the important features of a marketplace that would allow an organization or a company to build a virtual community that would meet their objectives as well as their members' objectives? Does the "industry" or target market make a difference??

In answering your question i would say that the market target people according to their tastes....Ofcourse they do make a big difference...Lets say u wanted to target a market where people loved burgers and hated icecreams.would you then sell them icecreams???????i guess no.....

By the way i didnt understand much of your question so if i have gone wrong anywhere then let me know....cheers and keep up the good work.
