Why is it so hard to find a job out here in oman? Its been a month replying to adverts abd even though being an omani i have failed to land a job so far.....United kingdom was so much easier....just get a job straightaway but oman seems to be one of those slow progressing sides....

Can anyone elaborate my pondering on such questions?Thankyou..

Quite simple... supply is more than demand, before it was an excuse that we don't have qualified Omanis to take up jobs, but nowdays you'll find lots of graduates still jobless.

Also, if you think in UK is much easier to get job there, my crazy suggestion would be why don't you work for sometimes to gain international experience. I'm preatty sure at the time you comeback again in Oman, your changes of landing a job would be much better. I mean you'll not only have good qualification but also a good experience to fly you high

Good luck

Well, first of all out of curiousity are you in computer related field?

I know you'll tell me you want to serve for your nation but at the moment if the situation doesn't let you, why don't you consider neighbouring countries until you find suitable opening in Oman.

I was just making sure if your in IT field cause there's traffic jam in that area. I don't want to disappoint you but I would say I know atlest 100 IT graduates still searching for job for more than 2yrs now. :sorry:

Sorry for my crazzy suggestion but I was just trying to give you some hints, at the end of the day you're the one who's gonna decide what you want to do. Only I can say situation is very bad, the unemployment rate is too high in the country.

Hey Abs, you gotta to be specific from the begining, it sounded to be personal problem. :D

I think H-H gave an excellent suggestion to any new graduates especially the ones that are coming from abroad. The job market needs lots of experience... it is NOT enough to have worked in relation to your course i.e. a course requirement. It is important to work when you have completely qualified i.e. for around 1 or 2 years following graduation. I worked for about 1 year after graduation before I came back to Oman. It was an excellent experience and helped boost my CV. You rarely get the chance to work abroad once you are working in Oman as it becomes more complex. The good thing about working abroad following graduation is you can work to gain experience and at the same time apply for a job in Oman.... so you are not waisting time sitting at home waiting for the job but rather making use of your new acquired qualification.

not only the problem in oman is finding a job but finding a job that pays well is extremely rare.

i think i'll have to agree on what H-Higness and seham have said so far...Its better to work outside oman after graduationa dn at the same time look for a job here....Its an excellent suggestion...
