I'm sure that some of you did as well. I have recently and for some time ago read some topics in the Arabic Sabla about some hotels installing spycamms in their wedding halls and that the sell tapes of omani ladies getting down on the dance floor.:fire:

Well, I got forwarded similar e-mail... but I don't know how far is it true. Its very scary if these people are behaving in unproffesional manners, I think it would be better to notify the authority concerned about this.

Thanx god I don't dance in any weddings :barf: or simply I don't attend many of weddings I'm invited.

Phoenix, I don't think I mentioned that they do that. All I said that I've read it somewhere in the Arabic sabla. Which means that I myself don't know whether it's true and thats why I came up with this topic to know the truth.

umm i heard about this too !! but i don't think any hotel will take the risk and do this because they can be sewed u know so really im not 100% sure but im thinking in a realistic way and any body who does that is really a fathy person !! :mad: :mad:

I have a similar opinion to BaBe .... I don't believe a hotel would take such a risk!!!
I think it is a propaganda..... may be some religion extremists like to spread a propaganda one way or another when they are not happy with some social activities!!

I had this question mark..WHATs that SO special for them to do so. I mean PLEASE i've never EVEr seen anything that they will be so concerned to have it taped! PLEASE!

Well i heard about this story from one of my family female member and she said the same thing above, and she is advising the whole family not to dance in such places.. but i think it is really worng..a9lan how can the hotel take the risk for doing such things, since all the hotels in oman are well known and they dont want to distroy what they've been built all the passed years..

I think that was just a ladies talk (As usual) and this is not true at all.

I think its all bull$hit o kalam fathy.

In the forward email I got , the specificly mentioned Hayat Regency, Intercont and Bustan Hotel only. And why is that? that's cause most weddings are held there.
People are just making up stuff and spready rumours so creat a corruption and ruin the reputation of well known hotels.

Honestly, I never heard of such a thing and I am pretty sure it is not true!

Maybe you are mixing with women taking unknown pictures with the camera in their mobile phone and sending them via sms to their friends or family. I understood that this incident was brief and has now stopped.

It's a very true thing, and i myself watched two of those tapes !

I heard of it but i dont think its true! but i heard that they showed some weddings in one of the tv channels to show how omani weddings are held, and many people complained about it coz many women were'nt wearing 7ijab and were dancing:rolleyes:

What I remember in UAE, for the past few years the same issue was brought up when the people found out that police have installed spy cams in some of the hotels, their excuse was to monitor the drug dealers and unethical behaviors.

I mean in weddings we do get photographers who tape all the wedding on video ok so maybe u r just mixing up the facts.

Anyone who watched the tape, why dont you go and send it to police authority?? if you just enjoyed seeing them, then you are in the crime and you are holding the sin with those who taped it!!

I don't think that it's true either. I mean, what good would it be to the hotel if they sell these tapes, and is it worth throwing their reputation away for some tape of ladies dancing? It doesn't make sense! Yes, there was a time when I heard that pics were taken with mobiles, like XP said, but it stopped, and I'm still not sure how true that was!!!
I think it's just a silly rumor that is going on!
