I visted recently omanfourm ( although I am not comparing the twi) there was one thing that I liked there .. they had a survey poll where people participate by choosing like yes or no for a topic and so on .. I hope we would have something like this here ..

I didn't quite get it.

this survey thing .. it is like posting a question for example .. let say the question is :
how do u find the sabla ?
you have 3 choices .. for example :
1- intresting
2- fair
3- boring
and any person can contribute to it .. even non registed readers .. and then whenever a person choses the answer .. the result shows how many people answered it and what they thought and a chart ..
it is quite a good Idea I think ..

hmm sara7a.. it is a good idea but i dont want to do it here..for one main reason..it will be like we r copying that they do!!...

We shoudl get our won ideas..not from take others even thought it s a kewl idea...

First of all .. this is not something done only in omanfourm .. it is an old idea ..
and then if they have come up with something intresting and something useful .. there is no harm in copying them .. in the other way round .. it will rise the healthy cmpetition between the two respectable places .. I think both sites are sisters and both should target the best for Oman ..
we can do teh same thing but invent something new .. make it differnet .. if u ahve any idea .. put it here ..

by the way .. I think even arabic sabla are considering to do soemthing like that .. and alwatan newspapers did that when there was intifatha .. so its not something new !

if they didnt even answer us about the server thing (which is much important in my opinion..will they (HE) do this for us!)
some will say...yea he will...but silently and with no sound!...well..The captain is still a Ghost in my opinion!...thats why i will not bring up new ideas...(its the way how he is treating the memmbers here!)..(No Time !)

what we r conserned here is the good of this place...
but one small thing that will bother me is: who will bring up the topics of the survey thing!? if we till now lack cool topics?

My opinion is we remain unique as we are; we are much different to any other Forum, simple topics because we are simple people. This board is easy access and offers much more features than any other boards.

We get new member everyday and the board is getting better and better in terms of number of topics in a day.

The moderators and guests are cool and friendly.

Great idea Miss arbprnces, i would love to have a poll added to the Sabla, but lets c what its all about.

1) This board is part of a package that comes from Jelsoft Enterprises Limited 2000... which is a company that provides Virtual Boards... if we add a Poll Box to the Sablah, it would be something from another company, not to mention it will have its own banner and ads.

2) In this board you can hardly notice that its a web site... its so clean with matching colors and great layout. in other words balanced. if we add a Poll Box on top it will distort the looks of the place...

3) Since we are a board we can do better than just answer a question with yes/no/maybe we could talk about it! discuses it more! after all thats the point of a dissuasion board!

If Jelsoft Enterprises Limited 2000 offered an Opinion Poll i'm all for it, but if we get something from another company or site, then forget about it!

Well I agree with some points .. about the organization of this sabla and maybe it is one of the reasons why I preffer to speak here in anyother palces ..
But I do not agree that since we are a board we should not limit our answers to yes/no/maybe .. I guess this kind of survey gives us sometimes clear idea in an easier way .. sometimes disscussions are drifted to other areas which wasnt the intetion of teh writer .. and this is one of the advantages of the poll ..
anotehr thing .. les\ts say we wanna choose the man of the year .. it would be easier and much more organizaed if it was in a form of a poll ..
any way ..it is just an idea and admin can get better ways since he is the expert :)
