Depends on whether you're an optimistic person or not!
If you are, then you see things from the positive side, and you'd say it's half full, and vice versa!

i would drink whatever water is in there and say it's empty, time for refill. refill the d*mn thing and say it's full.

maybe it's because im a peramistic type of person or maybe it's just that I wouldnt consider drinking a half empty glass of water.....!!
I would never refer to it as half full that's for sure!!
