Not many people in the Muscat region go for traditional dresses anymore except maybe for the Henna or some other celebration. It's all about the "white" now.

WEll it is mainly unarabic wedding dresses, but nowadays becauz of the technology we become united with world:sweat: ....
any way we have not only one wedding clothe style In Oman. For each region they have their own traditional clothes & most of them full of patterns & the Jwellery is the important part of the bride clothes.But nowadays wearing dress is easier & more pretty instead of wearing clothes that weight few Kilos:tiered: .

WEll as I can see we have different opinions about the wedding dress & how it should be, personally I think the best one is the cutest & make the bride looks so beautiful cauz not all the dresses can be suitable for the girl it is all depends in her body shape & so on. PLUS the bride should be comfortable with it, not she even can not walk to her chair & might fill down becauz she wanted it to be huge & full with cristals & blabalbla:D ......

Why does everyone go for white though? I know that if/when I get married (inshallah) I'm not going for white. It's just something that's expected, and I don't like doing what's expected :D

Its something expected but there is reason behind white color. It said to be pure and clean but still its not the end of the world, you can try baige or off-white...tough can't think any of other color.

U raised good point dear pheno, it is not necessary for the wedding dress to be white but it is the best colour for such day, cauz it present the girl as a pure birde:blush: & u don't wear white dresses every day unless u r working in a hospital:p .

Good u love it dear ;), Who said only western bride wear them?!!!:confused: I've been to many weddings & I saw many brides wear such dresses, actually girls now adays prefer the simplest dress to feel comfortable & show her own beauty, not like before when they even can't walk from the dress weight & jwellery they are wearing:D ...

I was talking with one of my relative who married lately & I was shoked when she told me about the prices of the wedding dresses!! she said it cost at least 800-1000 OR if u wanted it some thing uniqe!!!:Shock: this is costly especially for ppl who has moderate budget.
She told me what she did to solve this prb. She went to the tailor & bought every thing & said she wants this dress to attend a party so she got it only for 400 OR :eyes:
See how they can steel u when they know u r a bride & u need this dress so badly, which make u pay any thing they ask.

U can choose the model u like & take it to the tailor & tell him I want it for a party or any thing so u can get it more cheaper ;)
