I think now it is time.... we should ignore tribal name in offical doucument. Usually tribal issue so critical.... and might creat problem in our socity.

Machiavelli, aren't u proud of ur tribe name and its roots and where they came from? by knowing the tribe name of a person you can know the background of a person and trace down his/her origin. you can even find out if the person is related to you.

in my opinion if we omit the tribe name from everyone, we won't feel the family connection between us.

Umm... I guess the topic here is about Tribal socity!!. Well I am not really sure wether i actually undertood what excatly you guys are talking about . But if what your talking about is Family name as" tribes" than I guess thats ain't a big deal at all.

Wether someone knows your tribe or not .. what are you gaining or lossing anyway!!. One of the users pionted out a very nice point out there as by knowing someone's tribe you could actually find out wether the person is related to you or not. Umm but knowing about someone background as from his tribe.. I don't really agree with that at all. Remember someone could have a tribe which is well knows of being "bad" but that doesn't mean he/she is bad . Everyone is different and got different way of thinking as well personality.. so never judge a person according to his tribe "Never". As they say " Never judge a book by its cover"

Well You either take my opinion or leave it .. its all up to you !!!

when i said background i ment where he/she comes from in oman like: nizwa, ibra, sohar or outside oman like: india, iran, east africa... i'v seen that this changes the way ppl treat u. especially if u have the same family (tribe) name.

Well.. so you were actually talking about background as from what place in muscat they are from .. as what region in other words. Well you could be very much right in that I do agree with you . But you know what I honestly find it very silly someone actually judging you from where you come becuase that doesn't make sense at all.

However, it all goes back again to the same thing that i said on my last reply. I have noticed something very common in this country which is, a lote of ppl care a lote about Tribes and they do make it a big deal. What i don't understand is why ? Why all that mess and why being very picky !!. After all we are all a like and we all have one way at the end anyway!!!.
