It depends on from where you buy them, cauz there are experts who are making it buy them selves & they are Omani ofcourse. Also there are many types of it as I know there is one from the mountines & other from gardens & so on.

I will say it depends,

To differentiate original honey will not be easy task.

See, most of us here refer to Omani honey produced either naturally, or through some kind of trusted farms, using the roots of palm trees as cells, we refer it as original cus bees are taking their Ra7eeq from flowers, Sumur..etc which match our environment, provided that no additional sugar added to it, so the feeling of the originality ..mmmm is there ;) and same applied to local ‘samman’

But still some of the available ones in super markets are original from sources, even though they r cheap.

some ppl can distinguish for the quality of this honey as per their experience and through some kind of viscosity tests, sugar content and knowledge about the source and the brands as well.

Who is checking???
I think either through ministry of trade or ministry of agriculture labs, but normally the tests done only to know if it good for usage ( I mean more to health aspect) but sure not the quality or how pure is it…. :sorry:

It is really tough to find out whether the honey available in Omani market is orignal or not.

I think most of the good brands such as "Al Shafifa" are pure honey

Actually pure honey never expires. But all honey products in the Omani market have an expiry date on them...(due to rules of Muscat Municiapality).....the same case with rice...it never expires and also the more older the rice the better it is.
