I always wounder, why is every big business man is focusing only in Muscat?!!!

we have other cities in Oman that needs attention like: Sohar, Salalah, Nizwa for instance.

No big Mall is built in those cities (dunno about salalah) , look at Sohar for example, its on the way of people coming to UAE and people going to UAE. I am sure if a big Mall was built alot of people will actually be intrested in visiting it.

just a thought came to my mind .. and thought of sharing it with you guys, maybe you would know something about this matter!

Princess, I agree. Of course there are opportunities in Muscat as nearly half the population live here. But the otehr cities need things too. I would probably choose Sohar if I were building a shiopping mall or something like you suggest, partly for the reasons you suggest, but also because there is quite a large population in the Batina region with only one city.

Also, all the new industrial projects planned there should mean an increase in the working population with money to spend over the next few years.

I agree too Arby. I believe that Sohar is going to be something within 2 years and I dont think that business men haven't concidered it as a good oportunity for them.. it's only that they are waiting for the port project to be over and then there'll be more people in and out Sohar so for a new business will be more likely to be profitable than now.

(This answer came to my mind after observing the dramatic increase of the land prices in Sohar)
