I wear Kumma but I don't like strong color in it, calm colors are better. Some people they like to wear Kumma with different colors which is good for kids but not for adults.

As for dishdasha I think what is different is the lines, some people like to have one line in it, some 2 lines and some 3 lines. Also people from Sur have different type of traditional dishdashah and I heared it's expansive one.

I have seen some awful Kumma's recently, I'm used white cloth and colored embroideries but the one I have seen couple of weeks ago has very strong colors, dark green with red and blue emboideries. Didn't impress me at all.

:sorry:

I can't stand machine embroidered kummas or kummas which have more than one color in them. A good kumma has to be entirely hand made. It is a very long process. First the pattern must be drawn, then stitched and finally embroidered. For this reason hand made kummas are not cheap usually cost from 30 to 50 rials.

It used to be that you cannot get a good hand made kumma unless you knew someone that made them. When I was growing up my aunts you used to make them for me.
