I'm no expert but here's what I can tell you:

1) Your face should be clean before you start, after you've washed it use a water based moisturizer (not oily).

2) Apply the foundation (not just your face, put some on your neck too). The colour should be a tad lighter than your skin, don't do something too light.

3)As for blusher, apply from the earlobe downward to mid-cheek so you do not leave a"blob"of color on the cheek..

4) Eye: Start with the lightest shade, put it over the entire eyelid, then the medium one on the lower eyelid. The darkest shade should be in the outer corner of the eye.....
Apply eyeliner with short strokes, starting with the center then work towards the corners.
Mascara: If you have dark eyes use black, if lighter try a brown.

5) Lips: Before you put on the actual lipstick, try putting some powder on so it stays longer...
Use a brush for lipstick, it helps define the contours of your mouth, and helps to control the amount of color...

Runny I can see you are an expert in this field, so why don't you open a beauty salon for sabla ladies, it's a good business for you.

These are my tips youngy (I am a qualified makeup consultant)

You need a lip brush, a blush brush, a face powder brush (really big), an eyeshadow applicator, an eyeshadow blush (to blend), cleanser, toner, moisturiser, foundation, concealer, transluscent face powder, lipstick, lipliner, eyeliner, eyeshadow (a light base colour and a defining colour) blush, and of course mascara.

Start by cleansing, toning and lightly moisturising. Do not moisturise around the eye, and only moisturise dry area (to minimise shine).

Next, apply concealer under eye and on spots if any. Use sparingly as it will look really obvious if used in excess.
Pat gently using ring finger and keep patting until completely absorbed and unnoticable.

Now apply light base of foundation, be sure to use correct colour as a lighter colour will make you look sickly and a darker colour will make you look like a doll.

After applying the foundation, hold your hands on your face so that your body heat allows the foundation to completely blend in. Now apply the blush on the cheek bones. Be sure to apply in downward motion and not below the nose line or above the eye line.

Now lightly brush the face powder on to seal in the blush and give a matte finish.

Next, apply the base eyeshadow on the eyelid all the way to the eyebrow. Then with the eyeshadow applicator apply the defining eyeshadow to the ends of the eye to open up the eye and give the illusion of a bigger eye. Use the eyeshadow brush to blend it in so it is not too harsh.

Next apply eyeliner to desired thickness. Apply to both upper and lower eyelids, but go easy under the eye or you will look like you have black tired eyes.

Now the mascara, start from the inside and work your way out.

Finally, apply the lipliner ON THE LIPLINE (dont go inside or outside the lipline as it just looks WRONG!)
Now finish with the lipstick and voila!!!!

You look smashing.

That look there started way back in the day, and is my favorite look. The light eyeshadow with a liquid eyeline on top only look. That is ususally what I do. It looks best on green or blue eyes though.

Choosing your eye colors:
If you have brown eyes, shades of blue, blue gray, and plum will make your eyes stand out.

If you have green eyes, choose shades of pink, salmon, mauve, and brownish-pink to make the green look greener.

If you have blue eyes, shades of brown, camel, and taupe will make the blue appear even more blue.

For highlight and liner, stick with neutral colors

i got this information from styles101.com

This is my fave of the three u posted, what we call here the smoky look, because its looks like smoke around the eye. This look is a great evening look, because its so dramatic. I ususally "smoke my eyes" for special occasions. Great job el7ilwa!!

Hey, does anyone have any tips on lining your upper eyelid with eyeliner? I just can't seem to get it right!! :bang:

4-ever-young

well there is the liquid eyeliner (which is tricky) and then there is the pencil eyeliner which is much easier.

I dont really know of an easy way of applying it just have a steady hand *dont shake* and try and apply it in one stroke not it bits to give it a smooth finish. And if you happen to make a mistake one eye bigger or smaller than the other...well you can always change the other eye to suit each other. so no pani and no worries!

Thanks 4ever. I can do it with the pencil liner.. but as for the liquid one.. seems impossible! It keeps on smudging. :duh:

raffee

Phoenix dear

Just apply it while standing in front of a fan. It should dry as you apply it and therefore wont have time to smudge.:D
