salaam all "IT ppl :color:"

as u've seen from the title, I want suggestions on how to make a web page.. using HTML or even Frontpage..

I'm truely into this.. I wish any of you would spare me his/her time in teaching me this..

I'll be more than grateful :color:

I've thought of making a webpage be4, I'm still wroking on it actually but there is no time to do anything these dayz :rolleyes:
I use the frontpage ofcourse, u have to just add pics and make ur background and write information about the subject of the site, that's exactly what I'm doin right now, and when I'm done, I was thinking of opening a thread just like this one... Thanks Floret for doin it instead ;)

thanx for replying.. btw, I'm also "or maybe I was" working on a webpage.. I actually know how to use frontpage.. but the problem is with publishing.. how are u going to publish ur webpage?? do u have an account in any of the free web hosting sites?? like geocities?

alright ..publishing is quite easy once you get the idea of it.

example you can use geocities as you mentioned above.

you just upload the pages and images. and Boom done...of course you register..there too..:) before.

I have heard from some guy about the site www.freewebpages.com

He says that it is easy to use it and put ur webpage on the net, with a .COM after the name that u choose...

D.D. the problem I'm facing is that whenever I want to upload the things I have in the frontpage they "I mean the site www.4t.com" ask for sth I can't do.. this is the navigation bar where the pages I created have to be linked to each other in the correct order.. I tried but still there was a problem.. donno how to do it.. :lost: and that's why I couldn't upload it.. :sorry:

PLUS the site didn't give me anything.. they asked for info and I gave the needed info and then they sent me a simple email where there's nth but THANK YOU :duh:

havent used that site before... ok ...i'll make a quick website and upload it and see how this site works. Then i might get a more clear idea of your problem. I think I understand it. Just let me experiment myself to give you the best solution. :)

Navigation bar?? do u mean the one they supply or ur own navigation bar?

The original website for that service is http://www.freeservers.com, well, she can't use FrontPage to upload her stuff from their because the service is disabled, she would have to pay to be able to use it.

I don't think that freeservers is the best choice of FrontPage user. What floret can do is registered with any other website that supports FrontPage, eg, http://www.angelfire.com, and then make just her home page at http://www.freeservers.com and link it to the otherwebsite at angelfire, this way she can get the cool domain name http://www.whatever.4t.com, and get the good service from Angelfire.

Any good reason for this?

The main problem about geocities is that it doesn't offer off-site linkage, this means that you can't link to images that you have in geocities (can't use them as sigs, can't post them in other sites), you basically can't do anything with them. Number 2, they have a very limited webspace, and they have a limited file size, plus you can't download anything from geocities. That is also not to forget that the domain name sucks (VERY LONG). ~ The list goes on here, but the good thing about them is that they support FrontPage (I THINK), and that they interface is very user-friendly.

Floret i think you should try using Dreamweaver or front page before you actually try making a site on one of these free sites.....
It will give you a lot of help and make you better prepared...

I personally used dreamweaver and got on from there....You can now check my website.Click on the link below.

Hey, what about tripod.com? It gives you free hosting as well as support for using frontpage. Its not difficult, once you are done with the website you can upload in less than a minute. Is your problem mainly with publishing or with creating the site?

One more question, why don't u want to learn HTML, don't u wanna be a web designer?

I have never tried Tripod, but I checked their free service and it seems to be ok. They give you a 20MB of webspace, 1 GB of bandwith, FrontPage and CGI support as well. I am not sure of FTP and off-site linkage though, if these are available for the free account service then this would be the best free webhosting ever, but I dont think that off-site linkage will be allowed...

Abs: I did try frontpage.. but :lost: the problem is that right NOW I don't have it installed.. the nice ppl we got the comp from didn't install it.. u'll say I can ask them to do that now but never ever..
