I know that black is the color used for Abayas but how about trying to change that? I remember once the designer "Kefah" at one of her fashion shows introduced colored Abayas but i dont think it worked well...but woulnt it be a change to have differe colored abays instead of black?

I think Black is the right color for the abbayas..

i say women shouldn't wear abbayahs in the first place. i mean it's not haram not wear one so why wear it. why hide all those nice dresses and colourful designs.

black is the BEST color.. coz it doesn't reflect body features as much as other colors do.. that's what I think.. although I do belive that it's not the only color set for abaayahs.. black looks nicer.. :)

Any girl tried to wear a white abaya ?

my dad hates the black abaya .. and he tried to persuade us to wear them but couldnt .. coz simply its not in the society .. a girl will be odd wearing a coloured abaya ..

I dont mind if it was going to a wedding or something ..
but otherwise I love my black abya coz its so practicle:
1- it is a dark colour which makes those who are fat look thiner :p
2- it eliminates the hassle of woundering what to wear everytime you go out.
3- coloured abaya would show that u have weared it before .. while black is a standered one :)
4- its less obvious .. not an attracting color.

but i feel that black is a sad color..and i would love to see more color and i dont see why a color would be able to suit as an Abaya..
reasons mentioned :
-that black abay doesnt look like you have worn time a couple of times..i think this goes for any color.

- That other colors could be attracting well pastel colors would be good look femine and perfect.

-Black doesn't reflect body features as much as other colors do.well i think it all depends on the way style abaya has.

Plus black makes people look slimmer.. then other colors.. I dont know why

The black is a common color, it's a symbol for khaliji women. Tradition. All that.

It might get a bit rainbowish if we all wore colors..... :duh:

Well. I dont think colorfull abayas can be attracted.

i mean you can wear navy blue, maroon or dark colors and they wont cause any harm if it was loose and serves the purpose of covering! I mean millions if not trilllion outside of Oman do wear those colorfull Loose islamic abbayas or Jilbab. and alhamdulilla they serve the purpose of it. it doesnt matter the color of it but how it shapes on the body.

Well sometimes in this HEAT women need some summer colors! to reflect the heat, cause u know how black absorbs the heat!

P.S. after this LONG talk, i also prefare the black one. and i always do wear the black ones so :D

hey please dont get me wrong i love wearing the abaya...sheesh that is all i wear...i just wanted to change a bit not to attract men far from it..just to try something new that would be proper

Well I've seen many shows that present Abayas in different styles & some times in different colours Have u seen Diana Al zidjali show it was in the SQU & it contained many different & traditional things in modern way even Ababyas had different styles, I love traditional clothes & such things but these things can not be wearing every where......so I think Black abayas win cauz it make all the girls look the same & the one who want to get the attention she can wear Red one;) :D .

Black is the best colour, I wouldn't like wearing a 3abaya in a different colour, it would be a bit strange I guess!

Well yes I do remmeber about this coloured abaya's coming to the market but it never worked.

You see ppl from sham menaing - Palastince - Jordan - Sirya - Lebanon and so on tend to wear them.. but they are called jilbab.. they come in different coulours and the most common colours used are peach - light green - grey - even light yellow and light brown.

Infect i will try and stich a colourd abaya and see how it works.... for srue the black ones are the best but it wouldn;t be a harm to try the coloured ones!
