Can someone tell me how many soldiers are part of this force and what are they doing there exactly? EviliO 27-03-03, 05:25 AM How many, i have no specific number actually. Why? as part of the joint AGCC 'Peninsular Shield' forces According to the joint defence agreement, all countries of the GCC should protect any member of it if it falls under an aggression. Dark Project 27-03-03, 10:25 AM There are strong rumors that the Omani soldier have been brought back due to some misunderstanding with the US forces and some Omanis got into fight so I hear . Another rumors that 6 bodies of Omani soldiers ( You know how people discuss in funerals here) that they were KIA's . That’s why Oman official newspapers had to clarify that it was not true .. I wonder if there is any truth in the rumor. Another story which is been told by the family of the 6 Omani soldier is that there was a huge argument of that when the US troops gave the masks and utilities they gave it to the Bahraini and Qatari and Kuwaiti and Saudi soldiers and did not give the Omani soldiers. Could be only rumors . Big MO 27-03-03, 10:54 AM Originally posted by X-press I hear that an Omani force was sent to Kuwait. Based on information from a relaible source in the MOD, the Omani force is sent to drive the American and British forces away from Iraq. then their next task would be to march into Baghdad and kick Saddams butt. Negotiation with the Omani special forces are underway to look into the possibilities of sorting out the fat pig who rules Israel after their mission in Iraq. Ooh i think the number was thought to be 50 men (from Bahla, that what makes the difference). shamsery 27-03-03, 01:30 PM So far I know that Oman government is not taking part in this war. Oman and Yeamen has codemned this war. Dark Project 27-03-03, 03:00 PM Originally posted by shamsery So far I know that Oman government is not taking part in this war. X-press 28-03-03, 02:41 AM Thanks all, especially Dark Project for your infos and it will be interesting to know where is the truth in all that. So it seems no one really knows the number of Omani soldiers send there. Where they trained by the British? Evilio, you said:"all countries of the GCC should protect any member of it if it falls under an aggression"...but they are protecting Kuwait in this case, not Iraq which is more under an irrelevant aggression. Shakoosh Kabir 28-03-03, 05:34 PM Where else would they be trained except in Britain, a country which has always welcomed Omanis as its own distant cousins and which rendered massive assistance to Oman in the early 70s during the period of instability. The Omani military couldn'f fight its way out of a wet paper sack! Old_Glory 28-03-03, 08:55 PM Wheeew! I'm starting to worry about myself when I can't recognize humor? I couldn't imagine Oman needing a military force. Wouldn't that be nice if NOBODY needed a military force? What a stange world that would be. :lost: sanwin25 28-03-03, 09:01 PM Do you mean force or farce ? :gap: Sleyum 29-03-03, 10:02 AM I Dont really know how true is those rumours based on, and if its true that we are in front line to fight Iraq then its so SAD, but again as mentioned its all based on rumours and let us hope its not true as our relationship with Iraq goes so strong. Arabian Princess 29-03-03, 10:23 AM This is no true .. the Omani troops did not engage in any fightings and no one has been killed. In fact Oman govt refused to join the American troops when they were asked. so, no one was killed. Its just a rumoer and as it is said its part of the agreement to creat the gulf shield. |
