Did you take those photos yourself? Or do you have a source?

PS/ Great job what the omanies did! I was really glad that Oman did something, unlike the other Gulf Countries (excluding Bahrain).

Nice to let us know about it Equality...seem I miss this one :(

When was this strike done and about how many Omanis attended it? I see only men in your pictures, where they any women?

I am nevertheless happy to see that the Omani finally gathered and showed their solidarity against this war! I hope more protests will be allowed in the future as the war unfold itself and that all of us will be part of it (expatriates as well as locals, men and women).

A friend has sent me these photos by email, I don't have further information, but it seem from the photos, most of them SQU students ans citizents, there were also a strike in Suhar, salalah and Muscat this was in 22/3/2003, and based on this photos, i haven't seen any female participate.

In Salalah, i heared that strikers broke the KFC'c windows, at night of the attack.

I will try to find more photos and i am giong to show it here, needs time.

Well i don't see any reason why Omanis can not participate on demonstrations that would not hurt, or vanlize properties of, anyone ?

After all demonstrations are meant to defuse off pressures that is acummulated in everyone who can not stop injustices as he sees it. Demonstration is the modern expression of the ' least imman '. It becomes illigal when we start harming our own people and property in the process that is supposed to demonstrate disagreement with a certain opinion.

I think i've tried to express or define my understanding of demonstration and i bear full responsibility for this interpretation. Contrary to other expressions or interpretation of why Omanis do not demonstrate. You can do it as long as is a medium of delivering your stance but can you guarantee hooligans getting out of controll ? Demonstrations such as this one is civic and stimulates peoples political awareness. I am glad we do have such people amidst our societies.

So :

1) demonstrate - Express your stance

2) review - Yes review positive achievements of demo

3) follow up - don't just sit back to avoid repeating demo on the same subject next time

Please correct me when I am wrong. Thank you ladies and gentlemen.
