Sorry guys, I've been away from here for some time....
Well about your question, I'm not really sure of what you mean by "3asba", I've got an idea but I have to make sure before I post anything, so I'll double check and I'll post my reply tomorrow, promise!
For the time being pharmacy, can you just elaborate more on what you mean? The idea I have might be true, I just need you to explain to me what you know, anything will do!

This happens normally in the back or neck due to a sudden
movement. It feels like a sting. I don't know is it a muscle
spasm or a pinched nerve?.. Some ppl go for
"cupping therapy" for this.
Omani ppl call it "3a9ba".

if u r taiking about chicken pox then here u r some infromation about it ........

Chicken pox is caused by a virus called varicella zoster (say: vair-ih-seh-luh zos-ter). People who get the virus often develop a rash of spots that look like blisters all over their body. These spots can be anywhere from the size of a pencil's eraser to the size of a dime.

Chicken pox is most common at the end of winter and the start of spring, and most people who catch it are under 15 years old. People who have it are most contagious (meaning they can spread the disease to someone else) during the first 2 to 5 days that they are sick - usually that's about 1 to 2 days before the rash shows up. So when someone gets the chicken pox, the person who gave it to her probably didn't even know he had it!

A person who has chicken pox can pass it to someone else by coughing or sneezing. When he coughs, sneezes, laughs, and even talks, teeny tiny drops come out of his mouth and nose. These drops are full of the chicken pox virus. If someone else breathes the drops in or gets them on her hands and touches her mouth or nose, the virus can get in her body.

Maha he is not talking about chiken pox .. he is talking about 3asba .. something like a nerve in the back.

Well as a lot of the members said, you're talking about what is called as muscle spasm, or cramps. These are involuntary, i.e. over which we have no control on, often painful muscle contractions that produce a hard bulging muscle. They are common and can be easily stopped by stretching the affected muscle.
Common causes: muscle fatigue ( tiredness), heavy exercise, dehydration (decrease water content in the body), pregnancy, a condition known as hypothyroidism (which is a decrease ina production of a hormone in the body known as thyroxine), depleted magnesium or calcium stored due to an abnormality in metabolism (ion balance is needed in the body for effective transfer of electrical impulses in the body). The body depends on electrical changes within the cells to transmit messages to other areas in the body to do a certain job, so if there's something wrong with the balance, even a small one, then it can cause some problems), alcoholism, kidney failure, and certain medications that can probably over activate the nerves as I talked about them earlier by changing the ion balance.

thenx to dr N for the explaination .......
but i wanted just to add some more about this if nobody minds ......
Leg Cramps or Muscle Cramps (charlie horse) usually occur when a muscle tries to do more work than it has the strength and flexibility to handle................. As a result, most people have experienced a cramped calf, biceps, hand or other muscle at some time........... Another cause can be dehydration.............. Muscle cells are made up of 80 percent fluids, so they need to be replenished constantly.............. A combination of overwork and dehydration can be more devastating...........:)

Muscles contract and relax over and over again, but when a cramp occurs, the muscle locks in the contracted position............. When the muscle is irritated, it cramps to protect the area of difficulty............. People who overuse their muscles during the day sometimes wake up at night with cramps............ The best way to avoid a leg cramp is to warm up and stretch before and after exercise, and stay hydrated.........

If you get a cramp, such as a hamstring cramp, lie on your back and gently bring the cramped leg, bent at 90 degrees or so, toward your head.......... Use one hand to stabilize the front of the thigh, while the other guides the back of the calf.......... The uncramped leg should be bent at 45 degrees for the least possible strain on your back............ Or, if none of this works, buy a Goode Wrap ........

Thank you guys for trying to answer my question,
but now I'm really confused. See I'm not asking about
the muscle spasm (shadd 3adhali), but I'm asking
about "3a9ba" it's a nerve I think.
Please I need information so badly.

woow i missed so many things overhere..
well done dr_N and maha for the information provided...

yes u are right pharmacy,113ology,.. there is a difference between muscle cramp and the 3isba that u are referring too...

muscle cramp:
well explained by maha and dr_N and also check here back pain (http://www.englishsabla.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=10420&perpage=30&highlight=CRAMP&pagenumber=2)

muscle cramp is a muscle rigidity , where teh muscle stops at one contratcetd position.. it is mentioned very nicely by maha
Muscles contract and relax over and over again, but when a cramp occurs, the muscle locks in the contracted position

while 3asba:
is a muscle spasticity . where the problem comes from teh nerve which makes the muscle ina contracted state...

i know u are confused here between regidity and spasticity... well these are two differnt things and u can differentiate between them by undertanding its physiology ( physics) which i i don't wanna go into its unnecessary details but i will just mention simple definition:

Rigidity : involuntary bidirectional non–velocity-dependent contraction
spasticity: is involuntary bidirectional velocity dependent contraction
Dr_N it is teh same as the difference between istonic and ismetric muscle contraction, hope u get it now...

if the spasm or 3isba occur in teh neck muscle then it is called spasmodic torticollis..

treatment:
treatment is injection of muscle relaxing agents.. just go to A-E and show them ur spastic neck.. they will direcly inject drugs to ur muscles... e.g diazepam, botulinum toxin...
and some other pain killer like sodium baclofen ..

regarding use of caps and heta.. actually it is not an omani treatment but a chinease .. and omani modified it by ussing coins.. actually this technique is considered as a stretching proceedure.. because caccume produced in the cup will pull the skin and stretch underlying muscle...and it works very nicely.. and i tried such technique on my dad oneday :D , since he requested

Dr N

Yes, I got the idea of how the two refer, so was what I said correct in producing spasm, apart from mentioning the word cramp?
