you know i always think of that , is it haram in Islam or not , if you keep him on support it will cost alot of money and be a waste of time , if you pull the plug , than you are doing gods work and ending a life that god could choose to make better .

This is one thing i have always found difficult and i agree that it is upto Allah..as he is the one who decided when for us to be born then he is the one that will decide the day to end it...

yeah it's certainly a very confusing question that i've asked myself many times,
well there is the fact that the organs would be very useful in saving someone else's life,
but on the other hand, there is the fact that this person is still somehow living and so pulling the plug would somehow be like killing that person,
I don't know!

hmm... (in my opinion)I find it simple...no confusion...there...:lost: ..As for muslims we are not allowed to pull the plug. I dont even consider it a matter to question.
Who are we to decide to end someones life?...we have no right at all...cuz there is always the hope and faith in Allah. Which allows us to keep believing that miracles can happen. What say you if that very person wakes up the next day with no sickness at all?... Would we of killed that person on purpose and took their chance in living? :(
Well...thats my opinion .....

I don't think you should 'pull the plug'.

It sounds selfish, but unless the person shows NO brain activity or is NOT in pain, than why not hope for a small medical miracle?

I believe that removing a life-support machine from a patients is letting the person die from thier underlying illness. I also believe that the doctor who removed the machine is shorting the patients life which does not need to be done. This is a very tough question that needs much more thinking but I came up with the answer that removing the machine is wrong

I also think that we should not play God in this issue. Sometimes its very hard to see people suffering, imagine they have a very strong illness that cant be cured and they are suffering in pain. Thats really painfull, but still i think it is not good at all to pull plugs. I know that in the Netherlands its allowed to pull plugs. I dont know about other countries thow.

Very hard question indeed! It's gives you the chance to think whether to decide based on religious aspect or financial burden.

I don't know what to say as I haven't been in that position yet. But I have witnessed a lot of this at the hospital. It's very hard especially to the family. But most of them made their decision using their emotions and financial capability. And this is where one's FAITH in God/Allah is tested.

I myself would admit, that as I replied to this thread, I am even not sure what to do, it this does happen to me or to any of my relatives (God forbid).

This question and situation is similar to ABORTION. And you hear people say "CHOICE".

I don't have an affirmative answer to this thread. But all I can say is GOD works in mysterious ways and God is the creator of life.
