View Full Version : Gifts???!!!
Arabian Princess 18-03-03, 11:03 AM I find it hard to think of something to buy when I need to present a gift (wether to a man and a woman)
why dont we help each other here and give ideas of good gifits!!
H-Highness 18-03-03, 11:13 AM Well, I think the more important is to know what the recepient likes and tastes. Based on this then you should be able to make your decision.
Majority of people think chocolates and flowers are womens' best friend. Well, it could be true but that doesn't work with me, so no matter how expensive they could be, I would not appreiciate it that much simply cause I'm not fan of chocolates and flowers.
As for me when I'm hooked with what to choose for gift, I end-up buying pefumes, I mean the coolest ones. I think everyone loves perfumes, don't you?
I think perfume and gold suits women.
For men, watch, perfume, book, "musar", "wzar", set of condoms will do too LOL (J/K) :D :p
Arabian Princess 18-03-03, 11:30 AM yes you are right HH ..
I dont like to buy gifts that would not stay for sometime. This is why I dont like to buy choclates or flowers ..
I tend to go for perfumes too when I dont know what to buy .. but it gets boring to buy perfumes all the time
H-Highness 18-03-03, 11:30 AM Well, I agree with you on watch, perfume, book "musar", as for wzar and set of condoms, man you are taking too far even if its meant to be a joke just have respect to some ladies in here. Will you?
Ice-T.......either you be a good manered person or stick to the other personality!
you need to check a physician! I think u r duplicated!Cant understand you realllY!
Anyways: I think it depends on the age and the interest and to the occasion. When i give a gift to my mom, i usually think of gold perfume, creams, etc
grandmawill be like bedsheets, lehaf, cloth material, quraan Cd's, lamps or anything related to her age.
brother: watches, perfumes, SHIRTS, sometime shoes, execories..etc
Father: a book, omani cap, ashtrey, PEN, a cool lighter, etc.
and the list goes on.. I reallly dont have any limits in finding a gift.. I allways get what eems nice and someone may use it. I hate buying stuff that wont last or wont be usefull.. i will never present it as a gift in rare occasions. it will allways be if i was visiting or formal stuff..
What is wrong with a friend giving his friend a set of condoms or "wizar" as a gift, I don't think condoms are not known to girls or it mean disrespect everybody know about it so what is the sensitivity for
najah maintain your limits will you ? and never talk about me in that way ok, if you don't like what I'm writing don't read it and close your eyes or better for you to wear a "burqu3". And you are not requested to understand my personality cuz it's beyond your limits !
And why are you suggestion to give a cool lighter to encourage him to smoke !! what is left to give him a bottle of wine
H-Highness 18-03-03, 11:58 AM Cool down guys, Its not matter of disrespect but simply in this part of world we don't talk about sex and its stuff openly to the opposite gender, its considered as being an offense.
Moreover, we don't want to turn this thread off-topic.
Arabian Princess 18-03-03, 12:21 PM Exactly HH ..
lets not go off topic.
Navy_boy 18-03-03, 12:39 PM Flowers will be the best i think if it was to yr loved
other cases if it is for friends /students .. think of a gift which help them in their field ... so they use it alot & get a benifit ..
hmm..i usually buy silver or chrystal (for female friends/cousins) or anything that can be kept ( a nice frame , jewelery box) . flowers and chocloates dont stay , and i like buying stuff that would remind that person of that day.
for guys? hmm.. it's always more difficult buying a gift for guys. usually i end up buying perfume. or depending on what he likes. it could be anything from a music CD ..to DVD or an accessory for the computer.
DeSerTDesTroYeR 18-03-03, 01:45 PM off-topic: members can always report to mod if they didnt like what other members say to them...as long as that member posted..he/she is responsible of what they said. after alll they arent writing to read it for them selves..but for others to read as well..
--------------------------
hmmm gifts..it depends .....on
Their gender?
how close they are to you?
what you this gift to be reflected upon them?
what are their common interests?
what are their common interests?
---------------------------
once you figure out the answers to these questions.....finding a suitable gift is quite easy..:D ..just a matter of where to find it.:p
Navigator 18-03-03, 02:16 PM Holly Quran is always the best gift , wether to ur love, dad , mom , friend , bro ...etc !!
silver_ring 18-03-03, 03:14 PM i agree with najah ... ice tea ..you can say what ever ,, but such bad things which not usefull to give it as a gift ..why then u have mentioned ..and u cant post such thing..in sanwins25 threads or ppl like him ..thats going to be better
BoY-iNterrupted hmm..i usually buy silver or chrystal
yes dear ..did u call me :p
I disagree with u all ppl :)
I don't give gifts according to the person's taste.. I give them what I like.. I want them to remember me.. so I give them sth of ME.. if I give them sth they like then what's the difference? it won't be new or unique since it's similar to what they have.. u might say what if they don't like what u give them.. I disagree again.. if they like me then they'll like what I give them.. :color:
I gave my sister who's graduated an artificial vace with some little flowers.. BUT those flowers lighten up with looooots of amazing colors.. I'm fond of these things.. i like lights.. when she saw it she was abt to cry.. I wanted to cry too.. "as if I were the one graduating "
:)

To buy a gift for someone depends of his/her age, if he or she is married, and I agree with those who said that it depends also of the person's taste.
I tend to avoid buying perfums as it became something so commun that it doesn't seem to excite much the person who receive it, plus people are particular when it comes to smell and perfums.
For a lady, I might buy a nice handbag, a jewelry, a beautiful blouse with a belt, a beauty basket (perfumed soap, powder, cream, scented bags...), or something for her house if she is married like a silver frame, silver set, crystal vase or item, embroided table clothe or a decorative item....
For a man, I never go wrong by buying fashioned omani slippers (if I know his size and if he is omani of course!), leather wallet, set of after shave and perfum, nice marked pen, book, organizer, desk items...
If it is a teenager, the best thing is to simply ask them what they would like as a gift....usually they are always happy to get some money ;)
