Since I believe that there are some expert people in the field of new technology here, let me ask them for their advice
Actually, I wanna buy a new computer and I don't know which kind of computer to buy:lost: which are the best qualities of the computer I might buy? IS mercury the best company of manufacturing computers or is it Dell? Would u prefer to buy a collective computer? By that I mean Each part of the computer is from a different company for there is no company that manufactures a computer with all the best qualities I guess
Plz....urgent

hmm mercury and Dell..well..i would say Dell for sure would be better...but more expensive...

alright..you have to think of your priorties...to be able to find the most suitable PC you desire...

1- How easy is your budget?
2- Would you prefer:

a- highly proffessional warranty with service..and all.. (branded) - they do everything for u... u dont need much knowledge..in computers.

b- or usual warrant that covers...(assembled) they would do the same..but most preferably would be good if you know about computers and what you want...to be fixed..and all...

3- What are you going to use the PC for?
4- When do you plan to buy a new one?...is this a long time investment..or short?? ya3ni..u can change anytime u want...

------------------------

once u can answer that things will be easier for you to decide.

1-Money does not matter and it is almost on hand
2- Since I know little tiny bit about computers, it would be better if almost every thing is done for me .
3-I'M gonna use it for internet, typing, using some useful programs such as c+ and so on.....
4- I donu when i'm gonna buy it but it is within this week I guess

alright....out of all that ..i think your better off with a branded...PC...as it will come with package...software..and save you the hasle of doing things alone..beside..you can always ask them for updating support.....ya3ni..basically you wil be covered..

hmm....best brands around out of my head ....are

Dell
Compaq - lately they became much better then ever -

---------------

i cant recall anything beside that now..hmm weird...anyway.....

have you see their offers?....PC specifications?

anything like this should do good...

Intel P4 motherboard - if you want it for future upgrade see how fast the Processor can run on it...maybe until 3.0?

P4 - 2.5 HGz+

512 (or 256) DDR - Ram

64 GForce 3 - i still perfer it over 4....(thats a personal opinion - unless found a good peice)

minimum 60 GB HDD

(sound card - depends on your expectations but Creative has been mostly the common best) - better see what they offer...

either

DVD - Rom

or

CD -RW

i would go with both .....as until now DVD - RW arent worth buying but if needed...then why not...

--------------------------------

those are the basic...stuff...which can be customized

the rest....

screeen minimum 17" inch flat.. - thats fancy stuff...soo a CRT would do...too...

mouse - optical with USB connection - best or optical wireless

keyboard - multimedia.. - could be wireless too

modem - 56K V.90 - most suitable for omans current connections....depends where you are and what type of net connections you would use

Ethernet card - if you planning to connect to networks...or make your own Lans....

----------

overall...you can have the

video card
sound card
modem
ethernet card

all built in the MotherBoard ....

of course...non built in is way better... but if considering..then

all can be built in ..but highly recommend the video card is NOT. As it will use the RAM resources...

----------------------

hmm...any more questions......or if i rememeber anything else i'll be back....again..

good luck

Branded or assembled (http://www.englishsabla.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8751)

thats a poll which was about which is better assembled or branded...

i would personally go for a assembled...(collective) PC....as i would be able to customize it...to my own needs.
