This is some of the spanish words that have arabic origin, i might be wrong in my spelling , if so i appreciate your correction, also if some body knows more words let share it here:

Meaning in Eng: Olive

Spanish: Albanyil
Arabick: Albanaa
Meaning: Builder

Spanish: Dniero
Arabic: Dinar
Meaning: Money

Spanish: Almuedhe
Arabic: Almikhada
Meaning: Pillow

Spanish: Azucar
Arabic: sucar, shakr
English: sugar

Spanish: chaqueta
Arabic: jaqet
English: jacket

Spanish: camisa
Arabic: camis
English: shirt

Spanish: blusa
Arabic: bloos

Doesn't this have the same meaning in French?

(It's the only french word I remember from elementary besides bonjour, madame and mesiour lol, and that's only because it has the same meaning in arabic. ) :p

Is jaqet an arabic word!! or its a forgein in our arabic dictionary! am just wondering.. if we say me'etaf or jacket!

thanks R-Ato be here, originally, this word is not arabic but shall i say it is arabed (transfered to arab lang.) same as jacket, bantalone and blaoser. but these words are widely used in arabic lang.
I have no idea its relation with france language but i am interested to know!

yeh very funny, but do you know some omanies still use mezah as a table in the interior of Oman:eek: , also do you know that in Iraq they use the same word maza, which came from pashtu, Aryan, also alkurd use it in iraq, so where originally it comes from we dont know yet:( .

as well as other cultural necessities: cotton, henna, jasmine,& sasame. etc

Do you know the country Cuba (latine America), the origin of the word Cuba came from Arab which means Alqubbah, which is built in all islamic masjeed (mousque) and has ashape of semi-circle one above of the mosque building.
it is same in the capital of Philippine Manila, which originally has a name Amaan Allah which means safety of Allah (god).

regarding the swahili word .. well I guess swahili was made of some portoguese words .. so maybe the word meza came from there??

Spain took alot of arabic words and now instead of thanking us, they support the US against arabic country (Iraq), what a shame !

Spain was ruled by Muslims for 750 years & it was taken back on 1821 "if am not wrong" .. that's why there are many arabic words used there.. & now when you see Spain you wouldn't beleive that Islam was their religion in many parts of this country!

my teacher spks in Spanish.. he told us that there are loooooooots of Spanish words originally come from Arabic.. he gave us alot of examples.. but the problem is that i can't remember them.. BUT gonna ask him for a list.. and will INSHAALLAH post them here..
