Don't look at the subjects from a student point of view,,

try to take it for ur knowledge , especially the social one , try not to think of it as exam thing !!

hmm......i always found that making notes...or summaries of what i study to points...on paper...is a great way to actually study.....

1 - You scan slowly through what you need to study....
2 - At the same time you have blank peice of paper :)
3 - everytime you read something important..or you thing is worth knowing (remembering / understanding) you write it down.
4 - You try to make it organized...like chapter no 1 - title..etc

5 - After your all done....you never need to look at the book again:D

6 - This summary...is excellent..for exam studies...:) it has all the info you need to know..:)

Note: dont copy - paste..summarize....to a level that you can understand between the points..

best of luck...:)

WARNING: I have no responsibility if anyone failed out of this.. LOL!!! nah....joking....it reallly was a great help for me..especially helped me to concetrate on what am doing...:D

Oh my, this is the same thing that both my dad and teacher told me, I tried it, but as I have realized that only one chapter needs more than 1 hour, that's too much time, I've got more than 19 chapters... 19 hours?

ooh...my....hmmmm.....

ok....depends how much time you have...ok..lets say....

20 mins per chapter.....:) ....soo as i said..summarize.....summarizing can even be writing the title and subtitles....and explaintation of those sub-titles.....

thats the basic idea.....just write....the required information no need for extra..info....

hmm...hope that helps a little more...

Ok, it makes things better, but I need to ask you, if I only write subtitles, I won't be able to remember what is the xplanation of this subtitle... Anyway, when an exam comes, I will be able to remember the subtitles but the Explanation of it!

listen little student "am a teacher btw"

read in that subject.. try to understand as much as possible.. think abt it.. get one of ur little brothers or sisters.. imprison.. Ooops.. I mean have them in ur room.. close the room.. and tell them: I want to tell u sth very interesting.. make them thirsty.. wanting to know what that things is.. try to use ur imagination.. if u can add imaginary parts to the science or the social studies info. and go on in ur presentation.. u have closed the door right? then don't worry if ur brothers or sisters yawn and growl.. u're the teacher..

it should be amusing.. when u tell other ppl abt sth u tend to save it in ur mind..

best of luck inshaAllah :)

p.s. am not making fun.. this is what i think can help ppl like u.. I used this when I was at school :color:

lol floret, but it's true, when studying history, try and read it as an interesting story, rather than some facts that you need to know, it makes studying more easier and gives it a better taste! I remember when I was in school, we were studying about the world wars, so our teacher used to make it as a story, writing very basic info on the board, to keep track, and it was soooooooo easy to remember everything....
DD's idea is great too, if you can't remember what the subtitles are talking about, then how about writing very few words next to it to remind you of what this is all about. Try putting things as a tree which makes it easier to follow up and easier to understand and remember, instead of writing a paragraph. Try drawing also, it might help.

Well Floret, about your idea, I've tried taking my bro with me to study and tell him about the wars and stuff, this way is good, but sometime they get bored of it, and keep wining that they want to leave, so I let them go and fail...

if u want my advice in studying science...is to live with it and use it in ur daily life..

for example in physics, just study what does an equation means and visualize the equation in ur mind as a real phenomenon.. and once u understand the equation ... go and solve problems.. which are found at teh end of each chapter.....

for biology, simply visualize it.. read it with figures...don't vere memorize texts...

chemistry, simply play with it .. chemistry is a game which u have to discover..

i can help u in how to study science but not here in sabla .. but in real life:p

Well, as I had heard from my bro's, that if you liked the teacher that teaches a subject, then you'll like that subject as well...

Yes I do believe that if you like the teacher, then most probably you'll like the subject! My teacher in school used to tell me that doing well in school depends only 10% on the teacher and the rest depends on the student him/herself, I told him that I believe that it depends about 50% on the teacher, the way they react to students and the way they introduce the subject is very important. I've always done better in classes in which I had a good relationship with the teachers. We used to talk, discuss things, and I had some freedom to ask whatever I wanted, it made studying more fun actually.
