Wandering if not knowing, what will happen from the war the US wants to lauch against Iraq, does worry you or stress you?

Are you also worry of the repercutions this might have on your own country?

Are you daily glue to the tv set wandering anxiously what will happen next, or do you simply don't bother about the news?

I used to care alot .. and check .. but I then I realised those politicians are just playing a game on us .. everytime US is giving a deadline to Iraq and it never meets it!!
Any way, now I dont bother .. I just check the headlines and if I found something intresting enough I will read it.

I always pray to Allah that the war wont happen .. am worried yes, but not to the extent to get stressed!!

Well, I hardly have the time to watch tv, although they dont have anything useful here on tv. But, the situation is really disturbing. I dont know much about what is happening, but it doesnt mean that I dont think about it.
Insha2allah khair!

the current situation stresses me..However,not to the extend I can't concentrate on anything else.I still carry on with my everyday life but what's going on is always in my mind, even if I am not interpreting it to anyone else.

Being away from home, knowing Iraqi people, being confused about who is right and who is not, these matters put me in the mood of stress.

If only people were more responsible and not playing with others' lifes.......if only :( :( :(

Hi Xp,
thank you for opening such thread you really can be a solcial advisor i guess:) ,

Talking about the war, yes scaring me alot and its bothering me, i am abroad watch ing other nation how are they care morethan us, this makes you feel more than being home, i am scared becuase i am sure inthis war porhibited weapon will be used from either sides, watching iraqi babies who suffered since the last war scared me to crying, both dectators are without heart and mind, our arab leaders toungue was cut long time back, this is in one side,
In other side, i am scared of the future, USA planing is not iraq only, USA wants to hit several birds with one stone, once Iraq invetned, it means Iran will be surounded from the west and it is already surrounded from all other directions, itmeans there is no communication with syria, it means iraq, iran, syria boarders already isolated, it means Isreal can play dirty role in the region, it means te economy of gulf countries will be weak the oil will be priceless. we are going to have different life than what we have it now.
Iam really scared for the present and for the future and for the generation.
hoping from Allah all my expectation will be wrong and i am depending On Allah

Sure it does bother me, but that's not what bother me the much. What bothers me the much is the conflict the current events produce. For example I don't know if the proposed war would serve Iraqi people or not. Sadam is a bad guy, a bad president and he should be removed from the chair of ruling, but at the same time I wonder how much this change and this remove of this bad guy would cost the Iraqis!...I'm sure America is worse than Sadam but I strongly believe that Sadam must be tried in front of all people and Iraqis MUST choose their president themselves. :lost: :lost:

I wouldnt say it stresses me, but I have got a slightly apprehensive view of the war now that I have got a friend going out there. I am still pro-war though because it needs to be done. But in the same way i dont want war because I dont want my friend to be going to war.

I am personally quite worry as I do not know the outcome of this war. As the days pass, I can feel a physical tension and a slight anxiety in me. I can't help to imagine what the iraqi people must feel...

I can't help to worry as after all everything might go without too much casualties, or it might lead to a much worsten world! I can't imagine the start of a Third World War!

elmo, is your friend a soldier there?...how old is he?

==============================================

May Allah show us a black day on the American troops.
May Allah make the Americans weak and destroy their weapons.
May Allah save Iraqi people and make the war easy on them and tough on the other side and who help them.
May Allah send a red storm to destroy American and UK military ships.
May Allah make the earth shaking under their foots.

it is sad.....very sad actuallly......death without reason..for both sides....

am i affected....of course i am...in a deep level...but is it affecting ...i can say no....

i cant let it affect me......live goes on.....there is soo much we can do....and we shall do....but each does on his own pace...i guess.....

we cant stop our lives....around it ....we need to go on....carry on...if we stop....then....what will happen to us...we will be drowing into a non ending....cycle....

so better...keep on going...thing of how or what we can do...instead..of ....simply...letting it get to us.....

sorry....this is merely my personal opinion....and how i deal with such situations....

This situation stresses me out a great deal... i'm worried about the people that may die, because i do know a boy that is in the british army and he was sent to Iraq.

But my main issue is my family... and all of these hate threads to british or american people is scaring me even more. I was asked whether or not i was american when i was in oman and what i thought of the whole "Iraq thing" and this was by an angry stranger (no idea where he was from)...

My mum, my dad and my brother are there - what if someone takes it upon themselves to do something to someone in my family?? I really scared for them... it makes me shake whenever i think about it - and my god if Oman was included in the war someway, i don't know what i would do... :(

When the war started i went into shock - i'm so frightened about my family..... Oman is our home, but they may not be safe there...

jumanjima, though I can understand your fear over your family, I think they are still safe in Oman and I doubt something could happen to them.

Of course the perception people have over the British or the American has changed. They see them as "the ennemy". I think the Omani in general have a good heart and enough commun sense to know the difference between the citizens and the government.

Many people told me that I should stop watching the news, as it might effect me negatively. But how can I not watch them on a regular basis throughout the day? I have to know what is happening out there as it might affect us in the future. Just the unbelievable bombing yesterday over baghdad has drained me the entire day!
