Hey ,lastly the new version of the rules is issued !! but unfortunatley the thread is locked ,wonder why ?!!!
Coz might members have some comments !
Got soem comments :
In my opinion i think the matters regarding the religion should be at 1st as their importance !
while it's put in rule 14 in the version !
This bit from rule 3 :
Private details regarding His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and his representatives will also not be allowed
I didn't get the meaning ? Any elaboration plzz ?!!
Rule#4:Swearing: It is strictly forbidden to insult/swear at any admin./moderator/member and such action can lead to a warning. If a member complains about being insulted and rejects any apology from his/her aggressor, only then the Administration team will decide if a warning should be issued. After receiving 3 warnings, a member will be banned from the sabla.
Who determine wether it is an insult or not !! coz what some consider as an isult might be ok with others ?!!
Rule#7:Chatting: The sabla doesn’t allow continuous private chat between members. If a member wants to open a chat thread, he or she should get the administration's permission first. Failing to do so, can result in the immediate removal or closure of such thread by the moderators in charge. A private message will be sent immediately to the member who originally open such thread.

Is member living room part 4 considered as one which comes under this rule ?!!
The Administration and moderators have the right to ask a member to change his/her avatar if it is judged inappropriate or offensive. Disrespectable political or personal avatars will be removed immediately.
How do you define an inapproperiate or offensive avatar ?

If the topic has already many replies from members, then the thread will be locked and moved to the Administration Sabla where no one can access it.
Is the 2nd sentence of this rule related to the 1st or it's a separated one ??
If it's separated ,,then why thread is gonna be moved to where no one can access it ?!!!

Well this might not be easy for memebers of diiferent religions,,coz a non muslim member might insult God or Islam and prophets without intending to do so ,,as what could be holly for us ,,not the same with them ,,and vice versa !

good point brother.. and its good you opened this thread so the members would ask their questions..
regarding the above point, an insult will not be considered an insult untill we recieve a complaint from a member specifying where he had been insulted..
because as you said, what might be offensive to me might not be to other members..

inappropriate such as the old sanwin25 avatar..which was not only political..but as well...provicative and offensive to many members.

(GOVERNMENT)
Rule#1: It is strictly forbidden to disrespect His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Omani Government, its representatives and its policies. Mockery will not be allowed. It is the right of the administration and the moderators to remove a thread if they find the content insulting or sensitive.
(MEMBERS)
Rule#2: Members Nicks: When choosing a nick, members are requested not to copy a nick already in used in the sabla, as it can bring confusion.
Using more than one nick is not allowed. If a member is caught having more than one account without the Administration's consent, he or she will be asked to drop one nick, which will be banned, and post with the other. If repeated again a member will get a immediate 1 month ban. The administration will inform members of their banned status via private messages or e-mail.
Rule#3: Privacy: It is not allowed to expose, directly or indirectly, any personal or confidential details of any member or outsider without their authorization. Private details regarding His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and his representatives will also not be allowed. Failing to respect this rule and based on the seriousness of the post, the Admininistration and moderators will decide if a ban or warning should be issued to such members.

Rule#6:Complains about a moderator: If a member has a personal complain about a moderator, he or she can inform directly the administration.This can be done Via Pm or E mail.

Rule#9:Elaborating after pasting: If a member copies/pastes any article from a web site, a book or any other sources, he or she has to elaborate after that. If failing to do so, such posts can be deleted by the administration or the moderator in charge.
Rule#10:Unsuitable Image or Text: Unethical posts or images, nudity or semi-nudity are not allowed no matter their sources. If a member posts any text or image, which are judged unacceptable, the Administration and moderators have the right to remove them immediately. On the first attempt such member will be notified, but if he/she does it again, a warning will be issued. If persistent, such member will get a ban.
Rule#11:Members Avatars:
The Administration and moderators have the right to ask a member to change his/her avatar if it is judged inappropriate or offensive. Disrespectable political or personal avatars will be removed immediately.
Rule#12:Advertising: Any type of Advertising on the sabla needs to be approved by the Administration. The Administration and the moderators have the right to remove any post or thread where a member advertises without permission a web site, a private or commercial place, a private event or a person’s name.

Rule#15 :Banned Members: A banning period lasts 1 month if temporary. Once the administration issues a second ban to the same member, this time it will be permanent. The Administration has still the right to periodically revise members banned status.
However, if a member is banned and wants to rejoin the English Sabla, he or she should send an apologetic e-mail to the administration, promissing not to break the sabla's rules again. Only then, along with the moderators agreement, the administration will consider to deban such member and reactive his/her account at the right moment.
(ADMINISTRATION & MODERATORS)
Rule #16 : Editing & deleting Members posts: The administration and the moderators have the right to edit/delete any posts, if they find the content inappropriate or against the sabla’s rules.
Rule #17: Moving a thread to the administration: The administration and the moderators have the right to move any threads to the Administration, if they find the content sensitive, inappropriate or detrimental to the Sabla. The member, who originally opened the moved thread, will be immediately notified via private message or e-mail.

well All rules r Importnat and the numerical order aint a Big issue but ur point is understood and hence i can make it as red in color inshallah ;)

If u have a new idea(chit chat) that never suits an exsisting going on chit chat thread we can discuss it ..But remember we try to limit this ;)

well we might be abit flexible but there r some RED lines that r clearly defind by all religions!!! (like GOD? prophets) so accordingly action shall be taken!

If we assume a member did not follow above rule, who will be questioned by the police, the moderator of the sabla or the member or both If they approach the sabla team about such comments.

what can I say that the english Sabla is not responsible for the views written by the members now if any member disobey this rule actions will be taken from our side...But every member will be on his own!!!!after that as we dont know about the future!

dear icy u asked about this once in another thread and we answerd u...The thing that...the Human language is Ve ry big!! VAST nicks avaliable many ways!! just when u want to make an e mail!!! how many users out there using it? u can choose an ulternative Its not the end of the world...
These nicks we have some plane for them and inshallah when things are abit more stable in the future we shall do something as we still r contacting them and some of them r returning BACK...didnt u notice that??? so there is some hope!

Well if the INsult was Very Clear (like when some one swears directly clearly ..we can act..however in general a complain is always The best thing as because u know how people differ in the definition of an insult...Some take it easy! some Not!..some take a Joke as an insult...some dont! we r not perfect ya know.. and yea about the Mods if any one makes a mistake U always can contact the Admin via Pm or e mail and suitble action shall be taken!!!

And if the moderator of that sabla didn't take an action, I mean a member post a comment related to rule 1 and the moderator left the comment without editting for example, then will he be responsible too ?
I have a suggestion related to this topic:
Currently the rules available only in the General D sabla, I suggest to put them in all sabla's which are subjected to hot discussion and can lead to breaking the rules, so after that the members don't have excuse that the coudn't see or know about the rules.
Rules to be sticked in the following sabla's:
1. General Discussion Sabla (available already).
2. Religion Sabla.
3. Politics Sabla.
4. Members Lounge Sabla.
