Hey guys, anyone heard about "Final Fantasy"? It's a nice game on the ps2 and psone... :)

The first final fantasy was released on the NES in the late 80s, it was the first game that made Squaresoft big even from these days, the inspiration for this series was the Dragon Quest game but from what can be seen now is that Final Fantasy exceeded Dragon Quest in terms of quality and sales.
Final Fantasy IV was the first to be released on the SNES it was followed by V and VI on the same console. VI was released as Final Fantasy III in the US, and was the first major hit for the series. The PSone had 4 Final Fantasies, VII, VIII, IX, and Tactics, and later on these were followed by remakes of the orignal ones including, I, II, IV, V, and VI. The PS2 has currently two games X and XI which is the first online game for Squaresoft and was released on PC and PS2. FFXII is in the making now and the first teaser poster (http://www.the-magicbox.com/Dec/ff12a.jpg) last year.

Wow... u know a lot of info about this game BLuE_Chi, thanks for telling me about it, I'm trying to finish Final Fantasy VIII now, it's pretty hard but it has one hell of a story... I'll probably finish it sooner or later...
Which reminds me, I have see until now all the Final Fantasy games except one, IX, and I can't seem to find it on the net, could u get me a pic? and tell me where can I find X and IX on pc...

FFVIII is actually considered to be easy compared to the earlier Final Fantasies and other Squaresoft games, the reason for this could be that the "levels" of foes in this game grow with the levels of the characters.
ANYWAY, Final Fantasy IX was the last "new" PSone game, and it was considered to be as an end of an era for Squaresoft, FFIX was completely different from other the previous two as it had a medievil theme rather that the Sci-Fi theme of FFVII and FFVIII. It had also included one thing at least from every single final fantasy in the serie.

Well, about me, I really liked the graphics in this game, oohhh wow, especially when you use your GFs and the graphics of the movies, it's looks niccceee...And another thing I liked about Final Fantasy... it has a really nice story...

I haven't actually played the whole series, I've finished VII,VIII,IX,X, and Tactics, I was about to finish V when I lost the save file, I've played IV and VI but I haven't finished them. The remakes of I and II are going to be released soon in the US on the PSone, so I am going to get these two also.

The thing that I enjoy in Final Fantasy games is the story, I think that the director does a great job in creating an unforgettable epic that is more enjoying than reading the most intresting book or watching the most thrilling movie. Another thing I love in FF games is the characters and their personalities, they look and feel very unique and original, unlike all the "hero"s of other games.

FFX has the greatest graphics in the whole series, it was the first games to show the real power of the PS2, starting from character design to setting and facial expression, it is true an amazing portrait to look at.

Other games that I also enjoy other than FFs are the other Squaresoft games, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, and SaGa games, all of these are independant series that are just as good as FF.

Well, about me, I have almost finished FF VIII, but let me ask u a question...How come Final Fantasy isn't as famous as other games like GTA3, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Tekken... Though Final Fantasy is great, but most people don't know it so well...!!! Any idea Why BLuE_Chi?!

This depends on what you mean by the word "famous". Final Fantasy 7 managed to sell over 2 million copies in less than two days of its Japanese release... Isn't this famous enough?

Final Fantasies and RPGs in general are not very popular in the Gulf and Europe compared to Japan and the US, where the gaming industry is more developed and demanded than in here for example. In Japan, gaming is part of the culture of the country, and games like GTA don't sell much there, here in the gulf, people dont care about any games other than soccer, racing, and games with action. I am sure that 90% of gamers in the Gulf wouldn't know what RPGs are.

Sooo, that explains it all, Final Fantasy took many awards in the U.S, as it is known as the best game on psone, but people in the gulf don't know of it much cause they don't care about these kinda games...

U see, when I started the first time playing FF I had so much trouble, and that trouble made me hate it, but a little patience made it the best... and I guess that people here don't have patience at all with games...

Exactly, patience is the thing that these people lack, I know many people who just insult Final Fantasy games although that non of them actually played the whole game, it is just like watching a movie you can't really say that a movie is a good or a bad one until you see it all.

Yup, exactly... The same happened to me when I first started playing Fallout, I had trouble playing it so I gave up on it, after a couple of months my big bro played it, and he played it so much, and I only watched...
After he finished it, then it was the best game I've ever seen, so I started it all...

I can't remember exactly what is happening there, I bet it is the battle where Rinoa is stuck with Adel. You can find the whole walk through here, http://www.gamefaqs.com you can use the PSone guide I think, open the file, then just search for Adel. ;)

Hmm... I think its a cool game... Though all the people I know who play it are geeks... Hmm... But I'm not a geek, either is Bluechi... :D

I just wish to find FFX on PC... Walla I'd pay anything for it... Its worth A LOT of money...

i have never seen a FF on PC.... so i really don't think they will publish it... it needs lots or requirements...:eyes:

Hmm... Yeah maybe so... But one day I was in Zarqa in Jordan, and I found FF1,2,3,4,5,6,7 all in one CD... I bought that CD... But lil2asaf it had a virus in it :(... So I couldn't install it... But I got to play FF1,2,3,4,5 From the CD... 6 and 7 needed installation...

You may never know... Maybe one day you'll find FFx on PC, without FF8,9... Its possible... :rolleyes:

I think the CD u bought came with an emulator... which made FF1,2,3,4,5 work... but 4 FF 6,7 they didn't work on any emulator i know.. so this means that they are not Official

You can play FF 1-7 on your PC using different Methods.

FF1-6 can be downloaded as ROMs of their different formats and played on used different Emulators. I've found the NES versions of FF1-3 and the look crappy, but that is the game.

You can Play, FF 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9 using the PSone CDs on your PC using an a PSone emulator.

Also, FFXI is an online RPG available on PC by default.

There is no way to Play FFX, FFX-2, nor FFCC, on your PC no matter what you do, but you can still extract some materials from them like videos and sound files using extraction tools.

I bet that there is way to play FFx on PC... Look, think about it this way, the graphics and speed of the latest PC's in the world are WAY better than PS2... Everything in PC is better than PS2 these days, but maybe a bit expensive... So how come you are saying that FFx won't work on PC?

:rolleyes: I never said it will NOT WORK, what I mean is that there is no current method of playing it on PC. :rolleyes:

Anyway, there is no PS2 emulator that is why you cannot play it, plus still, emulators are not Analoge or Vibration compatible, so you won't be able to play the game anyway.
