As for me My best friend is a guy so we both decieded to do something special for each other, just so we dont feel left out since everyone in australia is suddenly not single.!!!!:rolleyes:

I dont know what he has planned, but i think I'm going to tidy his room then put some of the Bu'7oor his mom gave me, He loves his mom soooo much so i think that would b special enough.

Here are some V.Day ideas.

1) Candle light dinner.

2) Gift box: get a nice box, cover it with nice red paper, then fill it with things ur partner likes. maybe candels, flowers, chocolates.

3) Memory Box: Again Red paper with pink hearts, and fill it with things that bring good memories, like notes of words that u use or qoutes, the last movie ticket that u watched together....

4) a sweet message on his/her mirror , or window, or car window.

5) if ur married: a nice game of hide and seek,,,,, putting paper clues or flowers all over the house leading to where u r.

Alot of u might think this is all bullS***, but Ur partner might think its the sweetest thing!!!!

:D since this celebration has nothing to do in our society, also at least has an objective related to love ang good memories, so the best way to celebrate it in oman is
1. instead of 2 candles, 2 candeel (old fasion of light in oman)
2. instead of eating in high classic restu., as Navigator said sahnaah and qashei or seh (date) and u-waal(dry fish). (recomended)

A beautiful romantic dinner with candles surrounding it. Dim lights and soft music in the background. A nice bottle of wine will also go well - but since its haram then forget that.
After that, a long walk along the beach is very veryyyy romantic. Then stop and look at eachother and under the moonlight give your partner a soft kiss on their lips(or a mushy one), and give them your present :) That's adorable!! Come to think of it, I wish i had someone to show my love to! I could be pretty creative! Oh well...as for the gifts, I think for a guy you could get him a nice ring and carver "i love you" on it. Or if he is into bracelets or chains then something like that with a cute card is sufficient.
And for the girl, well we always love surprises! But some roses, a box of chocolates and a nice piece of jewellery will go down well!

Anyways, valentines is over now...so i hope all you lovers out there had fun! :kewl:

I had a nice Valentines day......

Three of my brothers got me roses, the fourth got me a huge chocolate bar (go figure!)..... Dad got me a new cover for my mobile....

And some wonderful friends sent me cards. :)

But darn it I didn't get a secret admirer! :p

Oh well, maybe next year...anyways...

My wife got me some silver cufflinks in a "khanjar" shape....very nice. I got her two dozen red roses delivered, and brought her breakfast in bed.

And that's where romance ended...she stayed in and did some preparation for work while I went for dinner with a couple of guys. We looked pretty funny sitting there eating our chocolate heart desserts from the set menu :rolleyes:

Went to "Safari" after.....full of Chinese hookers, their clients, and a whole bunch of gay guys. Vive la difference:confused:

This day was an awful day 4 me, cauz I decided to wear red when I get out in the evening & I didn't know that it is the valentine:( .....But my friend told me that & I changed all my ideas about my clothes....Do u know what I decided to wear BLACK!!! & I did it:rolleyes: . Seeing stupid ppl doing stupid things not a good idea to enjoy our time, so I decided to return to home better:( .

As for me i Unexpectedly had a good time. My best friend took me to my favourite resturant. After having a cocktail, i was surprised by a big plate of strawberries, with chocolate diping!!!!! and later on the owner of the resturant gave flowers to some special girls. I blushed when i saw him heading towards me with a flower!

I got 3 days charlies as a valentine gift from ^^^^^ ....

We had a quiet night... Wanderer and Faith went to Tai Kwon Do class and came home very excited because Faith had gotten 2 stripes on her belt (mini-tests), she didn't even know she was being tested and did great so we are very proud of her.
then we all opened cards for each other, Wanderer bought us chocolates and I bought him a book, then we did our usual Friday night pizza and a movie.

later, after the kids were in bed, we talked of love :) Braedon's gift was not waking up at an inconvenient moment! :):color:

Reading this thread gives me a sense of Valantinos as being a bunch of hypocrites.

Navi is wright we do have in our society enough charges to cover for Valentine without going into trouble of lighting candles, lanterns, chocolates nor flowers. We do have flowers on daily basis and where those are missing we have `Amouage` instead and one does not need to go to the beach either.

Yes Qosha`a, `Awal and Swalha are enough to make ones all around year an unforgettable Awala`Qosha`a day. Valentine is for the cold Valenti but let us not force ourselves for strange customs. Doing so would be silly and inviting stupid culture in our society.

Well it is understandable for our human cousins up in the etreeme northern hemisphere to kick start their relationships.

well..i would say a kiss will be more romantic, and if u guys think that this is the only day that u can show your feelings to your love, then sorry to say that u guys are not in love..if u really love someone u shouldnt just show him how much u love him by buying him/her roses or gifts or chocolates on the valentines day,, I mean you should show your love how much ur love is daily or if u have any chance..and that doesnt mean that u should buy anything...coz if u as a person know that the other person loves u then u shouldnt wait for anything from him/her, coz u already know how much he/she cares.
