I am wondering if you have had any experience with the Uk Embassy in Muscat. I just wanted to know what the service is like.

More specifically has anyone ever obtained a visa to the uK from there,what was your experience?

My fiancee is looking to visit the embassy soon to come here to the UK and i just wanted to get some info from you people.

Well u just go to the Visa entry section in the Embassy, Muscat! You will find a collection of application forms at the department entrance which will tell you the necessary requirements for the Visa. As an Omani until last year (e.g. 2002) I have managed to get the Visa in 24 hours.
I don't know the case if you are not an Omani.

Here are some of the usual requriements:

- u have to pay a fee if u r not a student. The fee depends on if u want a single entry visa, multiple entry etc. (I am not sure how much exactly but it is in the range 24-50 R.O)

- 2 passport size fotos

- address of where u will stay.

- proof of enough pocket money.

- flight ticket information.

That is basically it if u have everything (the above info) with u when handing in the application form u should receive the visa in 24 hours.

They are friendly at the embassy and they wouldn't scare away your fiancee!!;)

However, this is my own personal experience upto last year. I have no idea if any major changes have occured for this year (2003).
