I often experience these feelings and I would like to know if it is me who is peculiar or if other members do feel the same.

While on a site like MSN for instance, if a person asks me for a chat and I accept....I really hate when that person is chatting with someone else at the same time!

Here I am waiting for his or her reply and I wait, I wait, I wait....and the other person says after a while: "Sorry, I am chatting with someone else..." :confused:

Why asking me for a chat at the first place, if someone is already busy talking or wants to talk with another person?

I only enjoy a one-to-one chat, otherwise I feel it is impersonal and more importantly it is a waste of my time.

Do you share sometimes the same negative feelings?

Funny you should bring this up xpress. At this exact moment raffee is ignoring DD and I cause she's "Chatting to someone else". Yes, I'm a little annoyed. :p

But I do it too, talking to 3 or 4 people at once. You just got to be quick and alert.

You can get everyone that's online in one room. ;)

Or what you can do xpress is just be sablaing at the same time as chatting. Then you won't feel the wait for the response. Keep yourself busy.

i know what u are going thru Xpress...but i dont get irritated as i tend to understand and just ask if the person is too busy then we should chat some other time..i find my lsef getting busy and completely forgetting about who i am chatting with...!! but it is unitentional!

Xpress, the reason why it happens to me is because I cant say no to everyone. Some people i know will understand if I say 'Im busy' but others wont and might get offended, so I would rather try and keep up with all the convos than upset them.

Anyways, RA knows I will talk to her at least 3 times a day, so I know she is not that concerned if she doesnt have my undivided attention EVERY time.;)

So it seems from all your replies that it is okay to keep someone waiting and maybe do also something else while chatting...humm.

I usually will tell if I can't start a chat for x raison, but though it was a bit rude to make someone waiting for a reply.

So if what you say is what is normal, I suppose no one should get upset for not getting a quick answer ;)

dont worry XP ..you're not the only one!! i too enjoy a one to one chat..and i hate it when the other person takes ages to reply!! but somethimes you just cant help it and it's difficult to just ignore a person who asks you for a chat! but i do try my best to be as fast as i can in replying!! :D

well it depends on who you're chatting with..dont you think!! ;)

hmm...it is quite true...that waiting for a reply...can be annoying..:rolleyes: ...but as other members said....by doing other things....you wont quite feel it...the chat window blinks even makes a noise..once u get a reply.....

Beside all that.....it should be surfing ...downloading...(posting in sabla) ....and then chatting..:p

what i mean.... its always better to be doing something...online..and the chat is a side...thing...as you cant assume there is someone online everytime u log on...

So best way to deal with this...is once you notice..the other side is slow...ask if they were busy....makes it easy for them to say yes.

And always assume they are!... :D unless they state the opposite. And as chats are mostly between friends...saying "sorry i'm a little busy ...lets talk later" should be taken with ease...

lets not forget the situation..when you are 1 - 1 chat.. but then other online friends come online....and that would effect the response speed to the 1st chat. Assuming you would chat with the new comers.

soooo as for us sablators ....we can always enjoy reading and posting ..while we have a chat going on.... :D

This is true it is boring to waite some body replays 4 a long time, but I usually say Hi when I see some of sabla's girls & ask them about their selves & then I let them complete what they r doing cauz I know that most of them r buzy like 4-ever young as a mod, & raffee with her hard working in sabla ( by the way u r using I"M BUSY sign these days so no body dare to annoy u girl;) :D ) & many of them, but the one who I chatt alot with is Maha & I don't like to waite her replays 4 along time or I'll be :6: hahahah poor dearest friend:D .

There is no need to get angry or annoyed. I mean, after all this person came online to chat just like you and you cant expect people to devote themselves 100% to you, whilst other friends also want to chat to them.
I mean, there is nothing wrong with being patient and waiting for their response and in the mean time while you are waiting you could always be surfing the net or emailing a friend or downloading stuff - so its not that big of a problem dont u think?:lost:

...well I am learning "Morbid_Angel69" and understand better now that we someone ask for a chat, it is not really to be 100% with that person.

I used to see a chat like a face to face conversation. I couldn't imagine someone asking me a question....turning his or her face to someone else without really needing to hear my answer.

I thought most people felt like me, but since I realized that it is not really the case...I am cool now, try not to get upset and make people wait like they do it to me ;)

That is how I see it as well.. and I do find it irritating when someone keeps me waiting for long on replying... If the person tells me that s/he is chatting with someone else.. the I do understand.. and i do not mind waiting for a reply.. at least i know that i am not the only that that person is chatting with so i do not get upset...

I think it depends on the type of chat.
When I get that from a person whom I know, I just scold him/her for once and I guess by now they all know that.
I don't like chatting with people whom I don't know and even don't allow installing chat program like mIRC to my PC. But if I did, I would expect any thing in the mysterious cyperspace and I would have to tolerate it from the begining. Trying to change it then , is just like changing a bad habit in our real life!
