hey all....
here is a question that bothers me...
don't u think that we lack all creativty and talents in whatever we do??? and im specifying Omanis here....

i mean..whether is it at school or in our jobs...the talented gets the same promotion as the one without any talents :confused:

be creative in your work n still u'll get as everyone else :angre:

there is no space for competion and creation...makes us hate whatever we do.. same dull routine

i say we (in oman) have many talented and creative people..but they're not appreciated and used for the advantage of the country!! it's a shame really!! people who study graphics design for example have a very difficult time in finding a job!! while they're highly demanded in other countries!

It is indeed a problem we have here in oman. And I guess in general this exists throughout all the arabic nations. My first explanation to this is that influence plays really big roll in this. I agree with B.I. that there are lots of young talented young omani's who are just waiting to be exposed if chance arises.

I totally disagree with Navigator, because running away from a problem is not gonna solve anything:confused:

I would blame this in the 1st place Ministry of Education since there are the first line to get to know those talented brains. Thus from them...these great minds could be easily allocated into the field that there are talented in;)

Actually we do have some problems in imroving the talent and taking care of it around the area.

But why don't we look at it from another view??

U have the talent, and u have the institute or the place to improve ur talent!
Then go and enhance it!!

U don't think that the ministry or whomever is responsible to come looking for u?!?! do u?

There r many institutes and places like this in oman. True that u can't compare this to other places in the west for example. But bare in mind that we r still a growing nation. Actually, in our initial steps!

U have it, then go and enhance it. Then use it to improve ur self and ur country too! Don't just say ohhh i'll be m8uch appreciated there and there!!!

I believe we have intellectual people in the Gulf, and also who are good in arts and have lots of uncountable talents. However, they aren’t being recognized, that’s why the west would always see us as a third world country. We get no support; some people would even make fun out of you. I am sure if we had the kind of support we needed, we would have many scientists around who would make this place a better place, rather then depending on the west in whatever we need.

Well thats not something I am surprised at all.. but u just can;t say all of them are not there are quite a number who are very much talented as well creative.

Its just that .... i believe omanies in general .. are somehow SHY.. not only that .. u could say they do not bother to really work that hard for something they truely want.

Its the way the person is brought up...., thats something I know for sure. Those ppl who are brought up with strong beliefs ... they defently tend to have a better way of thinking ... .

thats what i was trying to say.... we do have many talented and creative ppl...i totally agree. the problem is that those talented n creative ppl are not appreciated, they r not rewarded the way they desreve....

besides..i don't think that we have many places where talented ppl can show and improve their talents..
i say...it is only through right channels that we can find those talented, creative minds...it's in the work place...people in charge should push those ppl ahead and not try to suppress their creativity under the routine of the work.
