One of my all time favourite console games is the not very famous Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSone, this strategy role playing game required a minimun of 40 hours to complete with an amusing battle system, amazing graphics, and a story that can't be described by anything other than "epic".

I've never played anything like this game before in my life, it is an instant masterpiece, the developer of this game, "Squaresoft" is going to make a new sequal for this game on the GameBoy Advance, I hope that it comes out good.

Well, my all time fav game is Winning Eleven on PS, its the best soccer game I've ever played. This name is for the Japanease version, the english version comes as International Super Star Soccer. Altough its not a new game, but still its the best!! a new version of it comes every year with little changes and more fun!! I also think its the number 1 soccer game in Oman.

Talking about PC games, my fav is Red Alert 2. :D :D :D

I dont think you'll need any screen shots! :D :D :D

I never play soccer games or any other sports games, but I know for sure that Winning Eleven (AKA ISS) is the best soccer game ever, Konami, the famous developer of the game has many other great games, like the unforgetable "Metal Gear", "Castlevania", and "Silent Hill", but the most money comes to Konami from it Winning Eleven games, they are making a new soccer series called "Pro Evolution Soccer" which is supposed to be good also.

Hmm, I'm not into football really, I'm only into action/horror (Resident Evil) games and adverture (fallout)...
But I guess that Winning eleven is one of the best games for most of the peole, cause I've seen a lot of it until now... btw, has anyone ever heard about an nba game called "NBA STREET" on the ps2?!!!

I also like the Resident Evil game series, Capcom was the first game developer that was able to really create a survival horror games with all the means of horror, and it didn't only stop at that, RE is one of the most successful games in terms of continuation and development as every other sequal introduces something new and manages to attract all the fans again without boring them with the same old same old concept, unlike Tomb Raider games which everyone memorizes now as all the games are actually the same with just a small difference in the stage design. Anyway, Resident Evil bacame now a GameCube exclusive and new RE games will only be released on the GameCube, I can't really say if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I find it at least better than having the different parts of the series scatterred all over the consoles so that you had to buy everything to be able to play the whole game.

Talking about NBA Street, I am not a sports fan at all, but although that this game was released along time ago, people say that it is a good EA Sports game.

Resident Evil is one of the most interesting games I've played, I never get bored of em', and everytime a new resident evil game comes up, it will continue the story of the RE before it, that's what I like about it, and I have heard about the gamecube RE, it's called Resident Evil Zero, I think that it is the newest until now, and I heard that it is the same game and story of Resident Evil 1 but with really nice Graphics... And about capcom, it has this game called "Devil May Cry", it's niiiccceee... I will try to get some screen shot's about these games later on...

And btw, how do you view the pic in the post without attaching it?

I have RE Zero, but I don't play it cause I don't have much time to do that, I am not a real fan of RE games, but I know that they are the best of their genre.
Devil May Cry is another great game by Capcom, but I expected it to be much better than what it really is, I saw the demos a two years ago and was amazing by the matrix style action, but when the game came out, it didn't really have that crazy of the wall action. Anyway, it is an OK game, and the sequal for it is already out.

well i guess u 2 r the only peaple talking about video games here!!
:D :D :D

although i dont really know any new information about the RE series, I've played the 3 parts on PS1 and i really injoyed them! but in my opinion, RE1 was the best!
it was the most difficult and chalenging part out of the three, even though the graphics was not as good as the following parts!!

:gap:

by the way, what do u think of strategy games in general?

Solidus
14-02-03, 12:57 PM
Strategy? Hmm, well, I got my own collection of strategy games, I like most of them... you know... like Red Alert...I got all it's parts, and I guess that I play it every once in a while... And I used to play Age Of Empires... But I left it long ago cause I lost the CD :p

But I guess that these games are kinda cool...

Btw, thx BLuE_Chi for telling me how to insert a pic... :D

RE1 was the start of the whole concept of the survival horror games and lots of people still believe that it is the best game ever in that genre, I also think that it is one of the best if not the best, the remake of this game was made on the GameCube with better graphics to make a great unforgettable game of the originla inspiration to the world of gaming horror.

I find strategy games quiet addictive, the PC is the most appropriate platform for strategy as you have a keyboard and a mouse to be able to tweek the smallest elements of the game. I think that the new multiplayer strategy games are the best.

A great mixture of RPGs and Strategys games are SPRGs (Strategy Role Playing Games) these are a games with stories and characters of RPG games with the addictivity of Strategy games, of you read my earlier post in this thread about FFT it talks about the best SRPG in history.

Yes, most strategy games are better on computer for the reasons that BLuE_Chi said:

And it is really hard for you to play these game on the PS... Cause u have no mouse on it... Unless u can use the analog thing or else...
I have seen Dune and Red Alert on the PS, NUTHING like the one on PC, the PC game redalert is really better!!! And so is Dune!!!

As you might know, the Sony has gone a very far in terms of technology and ideas and the PlayStation is just another project by the IT giant Sony.
Anyway, the PSone in fact does have a mouse that could be bought from any game specialist shop and it often used in strategy games on the PSone. PS2 went even further than that so that it has two USB ports that could allow the possibilty of having ANY ACCESSORY you could dream of. Mice, Keyboards, Zip Drives, Modems, Dance Mats, Digital Cameras, and everything. So the thing is not in the actual hardware of the console, but in the way that the games are actually made.
There is a great difference ing ames that you are supposed to play 15 cm away and games that you are supposed to play laying on the floor or sitting on a sofa 5 meters away from the screen. It is not only in the details, but even in the games mentality and expectations. This doesn't mean that one of them is better than the other, but I personally prefer consoles because there were made FOR games.

I guess that you are right about the hardware the can be connected to the PS, but the PS was made without these things... I mean that the hardware (mouse and other) aren't the main things on the PS, the PS wasn't made for these things, they were made for games that can be played with a Joy not with a mouse... In other words... It was a mistake for the PS company to make Strategy games...

LOL, that was a very funny comment and conclusion, I don't really think that it was a mistake by the company to make strategy games, but they wanted to expand their gaming library so they made strategy games and they provided everything required to make them playable! ;) So if you REALLY want to play strategy games, they you can do it on the PS2, but you will have to pay for that.

Solidus

Hehehe, I'm happy that you liked my comment :D

Anyway, I think that the PS company made these strategy games only for one reason, it is that some people don't have computers, but they have a PS, and most of those people really like strategy games, so, the PS company tried to make the same as the computer games, so that it doesn't have anything missing in it!!
Don't u think so?
