What happened to space shuttle Columbia ?

CNN says it was on " a joint American Israeli Science and Strategic Mission. One of the seven members Illan (ÅÇáÚä) was an Israeli from the Israeli Spy Agency".

I wonder what they were conspiring this time. Subhan`Allah. What should we peace ( salam, Islam, muslim) loving people of the Middle East say ? "ááå ÇáÌäæÏ Ýí ÇáÓãÇæÇÊ æ ÇáÃÑÖ " . [can you provide a translation for the arabic script? (you can delete this once you're done) ]

It is really a miracle, that a shuttle supposed to run one hundred mission in it's life has only done 28 ? And they say, this was the first mission involving an Israeli meaning a Zionist.

Illan is a celebrated Air Force pilot in Israel, and has a record of taking part on 1980s bombing of Iraq Reactor and was also involved in the 1973 war on Egyptian front.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Immediate popular reaction in Baghdad on Saturday to the loss of the U.S. space shuttle Columbia and its seven-member crew -- including the first Israeli in space -- was that its was God's retribution on Americans.

"We are happy that it broke up," government employee Abdul Jabbar al-Quraishi said.

"God wants to show that his might is greater than the Americans. They have encroached on our country. God is avenging us," he said.

Car mechanic Mohammed Jaber al-Tamini noted Israeli air force Colonel Ilan Ramon was among the dead when the shuttle broke up shortly before its return to earth.

"Israel launched an aggression on us when it raided our nuclear reactor without any reason (in 1981), now time has come and God has retaliated to their aggression," Tamini said.


How easy it is to use God's name........when it suits your cause...........

I feel so sorry for the Iraq's.......I wonder what kind of Islam they have there.....

yeas fatak, i think i know. What i know of muslims is when persecuted by an aggressor and there is no humanitarian justice around, they'd appeal to no one else but GOD. That is why you'd hear a believer say, " La'Hawla wala Quwwa ila be`Allah ".

i too believe that was the fact. Illan ( which means curse is 'arabic' has something to do ) has been a prophecy of the doom for the space shuttle. To believe the curse only those who know the purpose of the mission could concluded whether the demise is a curse or otherwise :gap:

I am a believer of all things GOOD.......

In Islam as well as other religions I see many GOOD things.......but very BAD people.......who abuse the prophets messages.......

I don't have the answers.......I know what I see......and hear......

One thing for sure.......most children behave in amuch more considerate way towards each other then most so called enlighten ones....

You will find.......there are many good muslims in Iraq......no doubt, but how they are suffering now.....only God knows.

Please back this up - both that he was a member of "the Israeli Spy Agency" and that CNN reported that.

According to Dr. Al Baz who is apparently is or used to be The NASA director for space shuttles ( correct me if Im wrong) said that when the shuttle took of somewhere they lost a peace of a metal which caused when ascending to some technical problems led to the explosion.

This is what I heard from some news agencies.

I was commenting on the Iraqi reaction.......and the use of Allah........as causing the terrible tragic event.......this is nonsense and demeaning to muslims........

I remember years ago........iIdi Amin ( a muslim now living a comfortable life in saudi arabia ) used to say Allah this and Allah wills that........

He was personally responsible for 500,000 deaths in Africa.....

It is one thing to say all events are Allah's will......as everything is his creation, etc etc.....

So would it be correct to say the killing of innocent Palistinian children by Israili soldiers is also the will of Allah?

For the record, I'm against giving $15 Billion to African nations to fight AIDS. It's not that I don't want to help those poor people, it's just that I believe Africa's AIDS problems will not be solvable until political and economic matters there are resolved first.

I fear we would be fooling ourselves that we were helping the people of Africa with our money, when we were in fact, only making their rulers richer - and more powerful.

I no longer participate in planning America's covert actions around the world - preferring instead to focus on reasonable tax rates and cable TV fees.
