As Arabs growing up in a Muslim country, we were taught the importance and fundamental existence of Islam. Among a lot of other things, we were taught that based on Islam a political leader had to be elected by the people, that Islam was a religion of democracy, and that our political leader had to be our religion's greatest servant. Yet, leaders in most Arab countries were never elected by the people. Do you think democracy exists in Arab countries? What will it take for democracy to prevail in most Arab nations

I am very delighted to have somebody like you PoliticMan. Unfortunately, we have many members who cant hold serious conversations and think life is all about kissing and boyfriends & girlfriends. Any way, lets start on the discussion.

The answer for your question is definitely No, there is no country in the Arab world implement the democracy or the Islamic way......but ?

You failed to differentiate between democracy and the Islamic rules. Democracy means...prestige or power for people while in Islam its for Allah. Democracy could produce weak decisions or non-Islamic decisions because people rule themselves and they can come up with anything they like. I’ll give you this example, lets assume that 60% of the people in an Islamic country voted for “No veils (7ijab) should be allowed in Universities for girls“. Well, that's democracy ...isn't??. Democracy had also ignored women rights in Europe for centuries...so, was it right democracy??

we should be careful when talking about precise political issues. Instead of copying western models we should go back to the Islamic way of ruling.

This is my opinion there are many systems of living created by men e.g. Democracy, Communism and many more systems, God has one system which is perfect and will never fail and is not of all above it is called ' ISLAM ' the author is Allah, a no doubt system, the rest are systems that good for few and are band to suit themselves or situations.

Those systems will fail like any other systems where people thought were perfect but failed.

for all guys.
Regarding to Democracy topic. Before discussing this topic,
let us go back two steps to see the whole view. We would
have noticed that, we are short of the main factors that
support democracy. For exampl, we people , forget about governments, do not know about the strategies of the governments or how this governments take decicions and this is a weakness point which make us unable to go forwards.
Mostly we build our knowledge by hearing from people or other ways that can be taken as good sources.

Yeah..the citezens have to follow the system that government set, but if the citezens are well-educated there is no system that can stay any longer. Therefore i think that the systems are not that strong, but because the weakness of the citezens the arabic governments are in control of every thing.

Whether you are educated or not, the system you have to follow is the system that has been set and agreed by the ruling Government. System or Systems will never endured irrespective of whether it is from West or East, one day it will be subject to fail, it may take one year or 100 years one day for sure it will fail. Take example of Mao's system and other leaders as well as communist. Some People thought there were perfect systems but failed.

The system that will never fail is 'Islam' because the author is perfect and is not subject to err.
