R.online 06-02-01, 08:53 PM we are what we eat...but mostly, we are what we read !
so, i try not to read a lot of glossy magazines
i love the national geographic editions, i make sure i read them when going to my ortho.
i don't fancy newspapers much so i update myself with news through TV, www, and political discussions (try yahoo's one, really good).
as for novels, i read thrillers, dramas...whatever depending on my mood. One really cool book was the green mile by john grisham, its even better reading the book then watch the movie. Now i'm on the bretheren..
But really ppl, what is the best book to read....what better than the Wise Words of Allah. The holy Quraan :) its bound to bring hope to anyone who lost hope.
salaamz for now.
criminal 06-02-01, 09:30 PM sorry my friend Nizwani: but this subject is not controvertial. Why do I wannt know what other people like to read or listen to? If I told you that like to listen to Tupac or Nana, what would you get?
Well I don't wanna interupt your subject, but I'm sure that you could write what's more efficient suject.
I really appreciate your valuable comments but Is It necessarily to have controversial subjects in Sabla??. let me tell you my objectives in this particular topic....
1. Its to remind ourselves that we need to read because reading is the best gift that we could give to our minds.
2. It may look unbeneficial to know what do people read or listen to but -for instant- if you own a bookshop you wouldn't be disapproved to know what people tend to read because it will help your business.
3. Its frequently asked question between educated people in order to pass knowledge and encourage one another to read a particular good book or magazine or listen to a cool radio channel.
4. Knowing what interest you will help me to be more selective in my future posts.
5. It may help Sapla moderators to make changes and improvements based on the final result of this topic.
6. Bigger researches always start with unclear objectives as far as public are concerned . let me tell you this little story, I was walking with a friend of mine, suddenly a smart gentleman approached us and asked us to fill in a questionnaire. You wouldn’t believe those questions -meaningless- but according to him they were valuable to the company that he was working for.
7. Controversial discussions are more likely to end up with different opinions but one way topics are straight forward and are more likely to draw an interesting conclusion for specialists, well we need both types as far as we keep away from *silly* posts.
