I found this subject in the arabic computer and tech. sabla,

written by the moderater, so i thought it may be usfull to put it

here too,,

its like asking questions regarding Hardware, Networking and

Programming,, everybody will find it usfull!

let me start with simple questions:

1. what does POST mean and what is its purpose?

2. which of there bus standards is faster: USB or FireWire IEEE?

3. how many devices can a USB port support (Using external hubs)?

4. whats the meaning of bursting?

sorry because all the questions r about hardware stuff, but my

knowladge in IT and programming (except C) is really poor!!!

I hope everybody will participate in this....

1) POST? You just posted a post.

2) USB 2.0 > Firewire IEEE > USB 1.0

3) One USB port for one device, and a USB hub can have as many portsm 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.

4) Be more specific about your Question.

i didnt mean that post,, I ment Power On Self Test. its a test that is perfurmed when u turn on ur computer.

2) USB 2.0 > Firewire IEEE > USB 1.0

about USB 2.0 I dont know,, but FireWire is much faster than USB 1.0 and 1.1.

3) One USB port for one device, and a USB hub can have as many portsm 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.

a USB port can support up to 127 devices!
(u were close EviliO ;) )

4) Be more specific about your Question.

I will not answer this one now, I will just explain it more, its a kind of data transfer modes from and to the CPU. It is faster in a manar that the CPU doesnt need to send the address every time, it sends the address only once!

Don Khaled, notice that I mentioned that all my questions are about hardware stuff... so dont be confused my friend :)
