I have recently invested in a new pc, but I was wondering if anyone would advise me as to what the best firewall would be to prevent hackers and viruses.

I want something which will still allow me to access msn messenger though. I downloaded some software that did not permit messenger, so I had to uninstall it.

dunno what is the best..but i've been using Zone alarm and norton anti virus for umm..two years now!! and it's working just fine with me!

lol..dunno..it's the latest i guess..cuase i just updated it a week ago!!

am sure it's possible to use msn, maybe something in the options you should play with and then you would be able to , it think that dede can be more helpful! :D ;)

zone alarm is one of the most popular firewalls used..and i think it would be the best suiting you....

try to install it again...(i would assume you removed it already).

make sure you are not connected to the internet...once installed. connect to the internet and update it if required (let me know if you need help in this part)

once done...

start opening the programs you use online...e.i msn msg...and some pop-up will come from zone alarm...it will ask to permit access and ...simply permit. there will be a small (tick) to make it always permit..click on it...

hmm....if you feel lost....and still confused..let me know....and i'll find a better way to explain this..:)

u can set the options to prevent or allow msn and any other programs and site!!:rolleyes:
